Think of it some people never heard of God. This is unfair to them if they will go to hell. It is also hard to believe in God if in the start you were told to believe in other god's or idols. Are they saved because they are not given a chance or they will be suffering because they don't know about God.

Of course not. If some people have never heard of God, all the more they should go to heaven and see God themselves, isn't it? Anyway, I think it's more important that we humans do our best in refraining from evil and do good, even if we don't believe in God.

Great point I do believe in God but I try my best to be respectful to people because I want to be treated the same way. Not trying to score points to get into Heaven. You are right treat people kindly regardless of what you believe.

How about accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

why accepting him as the savior??? we are responsible for our own future, gods blessings may help us to choose the easy and safe path but we are the ones to sail through it in the darkness to the light

I believe bad people get punished, and good people get rewarded... I don't believe in Hell and Heaven as you may think of it. Actually, I think that the thought of hell as a place with hot flames and fire, comes from the valley called "Gei ben henom" where parents used to sacrifice their children to the fire about 5000 years ago. You see, in Hebrew- the word hell is "Geihenom". Gei ben henom ======== Gei henom

This is a question no one can answer. I have faith in God I do not know who He sends to Hell and why. I really don't think anyone could say this person is going to hell because of such and such. I can turn it around and ask what happens to people who do believe in God and then decide they are not going to believe in Him anymore? Do they go to Hell? No idea I am amused by people who like to tell others who is and who is not going to hell. Just like people say if you kill yourself you go to hell. I don't believe that. The God I know is kind and loving and when someone kills themselves they are depressed and not thinking clearly. I see God holding out His arms and welcoming them to Heaven not sending them to Hell. We just don't know what happens in those last few seconds before we die. I do believe in Judgment Day and yes people will either go to Heaven and some sadly will go to Hell. I do believe the majority of us are going to Heaven. People going to Hell is scary for me to think about. God Bless & Peace

Very good question. Have you read Dante's Inferno my friend? It's a really good book that depicts every circle of hell. There are 9 circles and each circle corresponds to a grave sin. Anyway, in Dante's vision those people who never heard of God, those who have idols, the aborted babies and the unbaptized go to a place called "Limbo." It's at the surface of hell, just before the first circle. There, there is no torment nor punishment. Neither is there happiness or joy. That's how the people are there: they are just afloat, without direction because that was exactly how they lived their life when they were here on earth. Anyway, that's how I like to think of what happens to the souls of those people you mentioned. Of course we never know what really happens to them, but I like how Dante Alighieri depicted it in his book.

Oh, and to further the explanation, the reason why the people are afloat in Limbo is because that is a life without religion is like, it has no real joy, and it has no promise of eternal happiness nor punishment. Regards my friend!

Nobody in this world really could say that he is believing in the right religion. Most of us believe in a particular religion because we were born in a society that believed in that religion. Anyway for me I believe that a person who doesn't believe in God or has no religion but does a lot of good things will have a better chance to be rewarded in the after life if ever there is one. Every religion has there own beliefs and each of us knows what is morally right. One saying which will be applicable in all religion to determine whether doing something is right or wrong is "Don't do on to others what you don't want others to do on to You"

Many believe there is no hell, and do not find Christianity's claims to the contrary convincing, rendering the question moot. ;)

Many people in the world have heard of God, they profess themselves religious, but still they face the prospect of being sent to Hell. Knowledge of God and being a follower of some religion does not guarantee that one would go to Heaven. One must live according to his given nature. This alone would ensure that he would go to Heaven. Not all can live according to their nature therefore; some need the crutch of religion. For them it is important that they know God.
