hell0! I actually don't know anything about it, but i really don't believe it can cause such a thing, just because it is a water- there are no fats, no vitamins, no proteins, there is just nothing it, neither wholesome nor harmful ones! so that's why i don't think cold water can cause it, and btw what's the difference between the cold and not so cold water, because as we all know, many people who do some diets and want to get slim, drink a lot of water before eating so that they could eat less!

I'd say cold water does not cause obesity. First of all, water has no calories. Therefore, there's no way it could become body fat. Maybe others say it would cause obesity because their weight increased. Of course, the weight would increase but that's water weight and not excessive weight due to fat. On the other hand, obesity does not just mean excessive weight. It is "a condition characterized by the excessive accumulation and storage of fat in the body". (Obesity definition was quoted from merriam-webster.com)

Cold water is something we're used to drinking. When we first started being on this Earth, we always had cold water to drink. It would be hard to think that our ancestors were ever fat from drinking cold water since it is so essential.

That's unheard of, my friend. As we all know, eating certain foods like ice-cream, chocolate, and some other fattening stuff will cause us to be obese. But water is such a fat-free liquid. It shouldn't cause any obesity problems.

i never heard those kind of words that cold water will cause obesity as far as i know water is one main requirements of our body to avoid dehydration. and the more water we drink the better. its also good for cleansing to take off body toxin and it will also help us refresh and be cool. so wheres the cause of obesity as water once absorbed it will also be taken out by means of urine..

First before to answer your question, we have to define what obesity means. According to some references, obesity defines as a condition wherein there are excess fats being deposited in the body. This means that fats are being stored. Water, does not contain any fat therefore, drinking cold water does not cause obesity. According to some studies, drinking too much water could cause your cells to swell due to "osmosis" but does not cause obesity.
