Who else has started their spring cleaning?

I have my own small cleaning business. I have had a few days off due to two of my clients falling ill, so I decided to clean my own home instead. I couldn't believe what I found in my daughter's room! Week old food and hot cocoa with mold growing on it! Unbelievable..she's quite the slob! So much for making her clean her room, she just hides it on the bedside bookshelf-where I don't notice it. So I've been thoroughly going through the entire house-every crack and crevice. I usually do this every 2 or 3 months..but I've been busier at work..so I've been only doing the basics. Who else is starting their deep/spring cleaning?

hell0! I have started my spring cleaning, because the spring is already here, but guess the weather doesn't think so, because the temperature out is below zero and there is still snow from the last few days! well, i already have cleaned my room, ordered all my books and magazines, clean all my collections from dust!

Good for you! You're on top of it! I can't imagine weather below zero-I've been in FL for 22 years or so. I always said I'd move to montana-but never left. I guess the cold would leave me indoors and force me to clean LOL

I have started some spring cleaning but there is always something else that comes up so that no one is able to help me. Last weekend we were suppose to replace the facuets in our bathroom but that did not happen becuase one child had to go to school and my husband and the other son had to go work on my uncle's car. So there I was left to do the cleaning and repairs by myself. And I was not ready to tackle that challenge on my own. So hopefully this weekend we will get to that so that I can get onto the next project. I plan on taking a bunch of stuff to the Goodwill when I do my spring cleaning so I will need the children there to help haul the stuff out.

I need to do that too (the goodwill thing) my daughter is turning 13 in a few short months and no longer plays with toys...it's not the ipod or the wii. It's hard to get it all done. I've been putting mine off..but the other day I figured I had time, no excuse for me I don't have the slightest clue how to replace faucets though..that's probably too involved for me LOL

I've just started now, especially since I came down with the flu back in January. Kind of had a few moldy experiences myself. Wish I could have stayed on top of it more! That is so gross though. Some people take their good health for granted though. I have to make sure there are no molds in the house I live in, because I get sick easily from it (other health problems in addition to), since I'm allergic to it. I can't help but to sometimes go crazy and clean house.

I don't usually get sick, but I ended up doing so this year. It was a sign my health has gotten worse. I am quite a lazy clean freak. Sometimes I don't clean for a week, then clean everything in a day. Sometimes I clean everything everyday, sometimes I clean one room a day. I think cleaning is satisfying in the sense that you're the one who makes the house look good. If you have trash in your house and someone else picks it up, but not you, you don't get the satisfaction of picking up that trash you've seen day in and day out that reminded you of how dirty your house is and how long it's been since that trash is there, that other person does. I find by thinking like this, it helps me procrastinate less when cleaning. Having a dirty house stresses me out, so I either stress more or clean it up. Cleaning can become very satisfying then.

That's why I got my flu shot this year-I got it bad several years back and it was pure misery. I'm allergic to everything-I have to sweep and vac every other day. The main problem I have is my eyes itch and water and puff up-I hate that! I know the "clean freak" label-that's how I got into the biz..everyone is always telling me that life is more than just cleaning LOL

Spring cleaning... a never-ending task. It seems like the cycle never ends. At least I'm never board. I don't ever do a spring cleaning per say, but I do something just about every day. I never have a need for a 'deep' clean. as I keep it up or try to keep it up as much as possible. Can't say the same for the fans though I'm horriable at keeping those clean. okay... maybe not so bad.

Hey that's the smart way to do it..I started out trying to do that years ago..but there are those days when I've cleaned two houses or one that was a real mess (there are several customers I have that don't clean at all between my visits and that gives me more of a challenge) and then I go home and I'm just plain lazy! I do everything for them-so they don't have to do spring cleanings like I do. I think there's something you can put on the top side of your fan that prevents dust buildup-I don't know what it's called though. I use pledge on them and it seems to resist buildup a little more than usual.

I finally got finished painting the inside of my house. Now, I just have the outside left to paint, a few repairs, a bathroom remodel (or 2, depending on finances), a little landscaping, and the mother of all garage sales to host. It sounds like a lot, but I should be done by April. I live in Florida too. Winter held on for us a bit longer than expected so I'm behind on some of my outdoor stuff. The outside chores are my favorite, but I learned many, many years ago not to wait until summer. This must be a busy time of year for you. Congrats. Enjoy Spring!

Wow, now that is progress.. I love to paint! We just finished painting my mom's second home (we're hoping to put it on the market-but that's gonna take luck to sell) Winter sure did hang on a little long this year-I was miserable..it was hot then cold then rainy..I didn't know what to expect. I'm one of those that loves it when it's in the 90's..I have to admit, I'm way behind on the outdoor work..but like you said, that's what summer's for...spring growth, then cutback for winter

These days my house is in a constant state of *spring clean* LOL We have far too much clutter and stuff, and I've been trying to work my way through it all in stages. Recently I managed to clear the garage of clutter, although it is already filling up again, and despite my constantly cleaning up, the place is always a mess again within a few days. However, the spring clean has begun again :-D

I know the clutter, I've got lots of kids' stuff I need to go through..I haven't gone through their toys in a few years-and they can really accumulate!

I haven't started the great spring cleaning yet, because there is still lots of snow around and temperatures are sometimes reaching down under the zero. However I've been making some plans for that occasion, now I am just waiting for the weather to get warmer and sunnier, so I could take the carpets out and beat them up and wash thoroughly. I would also clean up every room in my home and ventilate them in order to let the sweet and warm spring air inside.

"take the carpets out and beat them up" Thanks for the laugh! I like airing the house out..it's great to smell the fresh air. I love to use lavendar cleaners and oil diffusers around the house when I'm cleaning to help the experience along

I haven't started any spring cleaning yet. I need to do some regular housecleaning first. I can imagine how you must have felt when you found that moldy stuff in your daughter's bedroom! I guess I would feel sick, too. I have a lot of allergies, anyway, and mold is one of the things I'm allergic to. You said she hides these things on her bookshelf. Does she tend to forget about them once she puts them there? Kathy.

I have a Jack Russell Terrier Mix Dog and even though she's a short haired breed, she still sheds. She mainly sheds on the leather sofa and chairs in the kitchen and it's very hard to dust off! I don't let her go anywhere else in the house because the majority of my house is carpeted. I'm just thankful that I'm not allergic to animals, at least, because I really do enjoy mine. I also have a horse I keep out in the pasture. He's the same one that's in my avatar, as a matter of fact. Kathy.

We have a sheltie and a few cats, so the animal hair is my main target..I'm sweeping and vac'ing every other day. I'm actually severely allergic to animals but over the years-I've built up a sort of tolerance to them-but I still am constantly on the cleaning so that I don't have a bad attack. I don't make her necessarily clean the room-it's more of an organizing I'm looking for. She throws her clothes down and the food thing..I know she doesn't forget them..she has figured out that I won't look there (it's a bunk bed and she's on the bottom with a built in shelf) I'm hoping to get her to start the habit of snacking at the table-she kinda sneaks the goodies in somehow.

I hear ya there! I usually do my detail work on the weekends..when I'm off, but I've been helping my mom out with her second home-getting it ready to sell, so it's been let go for a bit. I'll admit it-I'm probably more of a clean freak than most, the littlest mess will eat at me and I'll have to clean it or I can't sleep at night
