How to make my wireless modem secure

i have a plan where data counts. and it is also a monetory loss for me if my modem is hacked by someone. so please tell me how can i secure my modem so that i could freely do my internet.

You need to have a secure connection with a code for other computers to connect to you. Widows can do it for you automatically. There are different levels you can set the security on. I have the lowest because I don't have anything worth hiding or stealing. I mostly chat, and talk about my cats. If you are not sure if your connection is secure, ask a friend with a lap top to come over and try to connect.
