I got a letter from the census saying that they are either coming or are going to send me something. I forget exactly what it said. I just that that if they cared about saving money they wouldn't be sending me this crap because there can't possibly be a question on that survey that I have not already told them an answer to.
edit:
Also, Ron Paul is dead on about American Community Survey which also done by the census.

I understand that they need stats to allocate money and I don't have a problem with filling in a census form every decade or so. But I also got that letter and have to admit that a letter to watch for a letter seemed like overkill.

I have to agree with you there, lol
. Its an added waste of money on top of them coming out to hand it to you to fill out. How many times can you do this? I guess they have to quadruple check it or something to account for all the spending they are doing for the count. Have not gotten it yet, though.

I didn't receive the letter telling me that the census form was coming but someone has already stopped by to deliver the forms to everyone on our block. I am very interested in what Ron Paul is trying to do though and plan to look into that more because I have serious objections to the American Community Survey. I've seen it and it's beyond intrusive and none-of-your-business.

Thank you for pointing out Ron Pauls article. I would support amendment. I agree with the waste of money sending out a letter warning you! lol Government waste.

They've wasted a lot of our money on this fiasco.
By law we have to fill out the census but I don't have to play the game by their rules. When it asks "race" I'm going to put AMERICAN in the "other" box.
The Constitution says only that we need a count, not all that other crap.

I got the same letter, and yes, it was a waste of time, money and resources. Two days ago someone finally came to the house and handed me my census form. The form didn't go in to as much detail as I expected it would. It did ask about gender, race, citizenship, etc., but that's it, I was kind of surprised with all the attention being given the census this year. (Or maybe I went through it too fast and missed all the probing questions }:)
