This story disturbed me. As a parent I found it VERY disturbing. But I am wondering if there is more to the story
A school district in Arizona has filed a lawsuit against a handful of taxpayers seeking a court ruling that they have no right to ask for public records, sue the district or even complain to anyone about the educational institution's activities.
You should read the whole story

Toward the end explains why the parents are seeking this info. Through out the story it explains that the district does not want to provide it because it is a nuisance. Wow - I would fire them! They have been having problems in the past with refusing to provide public records.

This is awesome the school is suing the taxpayers that fund the school. There is something that the school must not be aware of, the freedom of information act. If you are a taxpayer funded entity you are subject to the freedom of information act unless it is security sensitive material. So unless the school is spying on terrorist or is finding the files on how much plastic surgery Nancy Pelosi has had, they need to comply.

I don't see the school district wining this one. They don't like having parents that are tryin to hold them accountable for their irresponsible actions...so they are trying to shut them up...I don't see the school winning.

Good luck to the school district with this one. There is a legal argument for harassment but the district would have to prove that and, if these parents were only requesting specific records for valid reasons, the district will not prevail. It looks on the face of it that they're not very responsive to requests and that they're playing fast and loose with taxpayer money. I think these folks are worried about being fired which is why they're trying to lock up the records. They must not realize that, if they did win against these parents, another parent or two can make the same requests the following day.
