House Republicans approved a conference-wide moratorium on earmarks on Thursday, one day after a House committee enacted a ban on for-profit earmarks. The Republicans' moratorium is more extensive than the House Appropriations Committee's ban in that it applies to all earmarks for all members of the caucus. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/86203-house-gop-approves-conference-wide-earmark-ban I dont care who brings it up, Dem or GOP just pass it. With where our economy is, this should be a no-brainer. This can be revisited every year, but until our debt is under control (paid off) the earmarks need to stop.

If they had just come to this conclusion when they had the power. It is easy when you do not have any power to make these promises but when you obtain power is the true test.

I agree...I don't care which sides does it...just do it. I do like the republican plan better because it gets rid of earmarks all together. But I can deal with the democratic plan. It is at least a start.

I am not sure what your asking. I was talking about a moratorium on earmarks.

I agree, but the Senate hasn't agreed to any moratorium. It needs to get on board, too.
