I've seen people talking about writing online for quite some time now. And now, I feel like it is my time to write. So, what I am asking of you, my fellow mylotters, please tell me about the places where you do your online writing. You can list the site name, but please don't place a link to it as that isn't really allowed. Please tell me about the pros and cons of the site that you are using. Have you been paid. I really look forward to further exploring the options and finding the site that is the best fit for me.

I don't think that I'm friends with either of them, but I'll have to look them up and see if they would accept me as a friend. Thank you for the suggestions of people that would be able to help me.

I actually have opened an account on Helium, I am just trying to figure it out at this point. I don't know how to use my own title for the first article that I wanted to write.

I've been wanting to write articles for the longest time, but haven't had the time. I actually joined Associated Content as that seemed the most appealing to me - but that was nearly 2 years ago (apparently I still have an account though). There's always intentions on actually writing, so I do check up on the site occasionally and have been reading what people think of online writing, particularly Associated Content, on myLot and Yahoo Answers. They are saying that AC doesn't pay up as much as years ago, and that they are quite picky and do not accept articles too easily. That may be so, but I have to wonder about what and how the writer is writing . . . I can't imagine that any of these writing sites would accept everything that people write. Best of luck with your writing ventures . . . for now, I'm just "free form" on myLot!

Well, right now I am in the same boat as you are in. However, there are some things that I would like to write about and while it won't make me rich, I do like to share the things that I know with other people. As much as I enjoy my time on mylot, some of the things that I want to share would only be appropriate for a different kind of writing and that is why I'm interested in expanding my horizons.

For me, I think that writing articles is going to be the better option for me right now because of the fact that I want to write about the things that are interesting to me instead of things that are assigned to me. I've not been in school for several years and I don't want to feel like I am back in school right now.

I agree with you Doran. Many have recommended Odesk and other sites that will allow me to complete a task. However, I don't think it's really my cup of tea to write for other people, following their instructions. I'd rather write about the things I'm interested in. This way ideas just flow spontaneously. Words are endless.

That is me very much ip, I never liked to write when I was in school because I find it much easier to write about those things that I know and enjoy than to write about what someone else tells me to write.

As far as I am concerned, there a lot of sitrs for us to write . From the writing we can not only earn some extra money, but also can learn some knowledge. For me, the site triond and the site helium are the better site for you to write. Have a nice day.

You are the second person to have mentioned both of these sites, so I will have to look into triond some because this is the first time that I've heard of them. As far as Helium goes, I started an account there the other day but I've yet to do anything with it.

My favorite site to write articles is Squidoo, it is fun to create a lens (article) there and you can add many widgets to monetize your article like An Ebay/Amazon/Zazzle button and you can also promote your affiliates link or create a backlink which point to your blog/site. I have write two lens there, but i had only 15 views for both -_-', i didn't earn anything from Squidoo yet but i'm not a serious writer there. ^^ They accept all your articles contrary to others articles directories which will first review your content before submitting it (Associated Content, Hubpages, ...). Good luck! ^^

That sounds like fun. I honestly don't care if what I write has to be reviewed, but I just want to be able to sit down in the evening after the nieces have gone home and my own children are quiet and just write for a while. I want to write about the things that I've experienced in my life and I want to be able to teach how to take part in some of my hobbies through writing.
