any video format compress the most?

I need to compress a a rmvb movie (about 100mb) into some other format that future shrink the size, I try mp4, but it gives me an output of about 300mb. So any idea?

Do not bluff! WinRAR is used to zip files and it makes no great deal of difference by compressing videos using WinRAR!

WEll if you wanna keep the files for future use you can use Win Rar.

mp4 is usually used for portable devices. What are you trying to view the video on? Compressing it into another format will effect the resulation, so the output may not be as great as you would like it to be. But, try avi, that's the most common video format out there.

thanks. I also try avi, the output is very big. flv is one choice, but do you know if there is free converter either work on windows or linux?

I know just the format1 To convert a 300 mb file, use a MATROSKA MOVIE format - I think it is .mkv file! Also, if you own a Nintendo DS or DSi, you can compress the video to about 25 MB in Nintendo DS format!

The smallest I know of is Movie Maker's smallest dialup option, which give a 160 x 120 picture size. However, the picture is not very clear, and any text will be blurred somewhat. I would suggest making a few using several resolution formats and finding the best "happy medium" for size and quality.
