Wow, did anyone know that a pickle is a small cucumber?

Well Yes, lol. U sound like my oldest son . He was half grown before he knew that. He loved pickles but he hated cucumbers. He was shocked when he found out, I thought it was hilarious. . Hope u are having a great weekend.

Yes. We use to grow cucumbers all the time and make pickles. But I haven't made any in years...

Yep I know that. A pickle is a pickled cucumber. My MIL used to make her own pickles too! Her dills weren't to shabby.

Yeah! Pickles are awesome. I've always know that pickles are generally cucumbers. If you ever want to try something fun make your own pickles, or try something different like pickled green beans, or pickled okra.

hi iamamommy! as far as i know, the term "pickle" can also refer to other vegetables or fruits that are suitable for "pickling", like onions, unripe mangoes, turnips, etc., the most common of which is the young cucumber because it has so many culinary uses (especially in relishing and dressing salads and sandwiches).
