http://www.esquire.com/blogs/endorsement/breast-milk-cheese-031110 The Owner & Chef of a New York restaurant named Klee Brasserie was overwhelmed when he opened his freezer to find an overload of frozen breast milk that his wife had been saving for their newly born baby. He had a sudden thought as to how he could use that breast milk & set out making Breast Milk Cheese. This story was on the Today Show this morning & they showed several people trying this cheese for the first time. Most said it was different but edible. They didn't tell how he made this cheese nor how much of the saved breast milk he had used. I don't know why, but it sounds fairly GROSS!!! Have you ever tried Breast Milk Cheese??? Or do you think you'd be brave enough to try it if you had the opportunity??? Does the thought gross you out or would you be adventurous & try it???

I think it's gross too. And what's next they gonna start "milking" women to make cheese out of it. Oh, please isn't being a woman and a mom hard enough. I don't think i can get myself to try those cheese too.

I think that we are grossed out because it's something from the human body and maybe subconsciously we see some kind of cannibalistic connection. I have drunk human milk and it's OK, not something that I'd want to drink all the time, but that's my attitude towards all kinds of milk. I'd try the cheese. My main concern would be that the milk had been boiled first, or pasteurized, you don't want to take any chances!

I do find it odd. However, I'm not sure what's not right about it!!! The chef is the husband to the milk producer & he felt that he was utilizing a product that was just going to go to waste as Mom was producing faster than baby was drinking. My first reaction was Oh gross!!! Now that I've had time to think about it, I'd probably give it a tiny taste if for no other reason than to see what I was missing!!! As mentioned above, the chance of contracting a disease would be my biggest fear!!!
