So yesterday, my friend asked me if I can recommend her a jpop song with a fast beat and has a dance-y tune in it. I can't recommend her anything because I listen to Jrock. Can anybody suggest me a song?

try listening to buono's songs. their songs are usually upbeat and for dancing. buono is an all girl trio dancing while singing. amuro namie, mai kuraki, aiuchi rina, tenjo chiki are some that sings upbeat songs. but ofcourse, not everything that they sing is upbeat.

Hmm...how about Matsushita Yuya. His songs "Trust Me" and "Honesty" fit that type of description. That was the only artist that popped in my head besides Utada Hikaru. Hope that helps.

I found a new song that fits under the "jpop" category i'm looking for. The title of the song is "Mr. Taxi" by SNSD. They're actually a Korean girl group who debuted earlier this year in Japan. They also have songs like, "Gee", "Genie" and RDR among the few. If I got it right, almost all of their songs topped the Oricon charts. And right now, Mr. Taxi is somewhere along the Top FIve..? haha. I'm not that sure. But SNSD isn't the only Korean group that debuted in Japan, there are too many to even mention. So I think my question is now solved :)

sure! i recommend "Garagara Go" and "Bringing You Love" by BIGBANG. Don't worry, the songs are Japanese, not Korean. :)

CrimsonRain, thanks for recommending these. I actually know Gara Gara Go. But it doesn't appeal to me much. Japanese songs by BigBang are usually not that appealing. When they release an album in japan, they usually go for the electronic beat songs..which is a total opposite of Jrock. I also recommended it to my friend when she first asked me. I may try to recommend her too Bringing you love though^^

Fangirl mode ON! XD I highly recommend Arashi's "Mada minu sekai e". It's a really upbeat and danceable tune. It has a little bit of KPop feel into it too :) Most of Arashi songs are upbeat so I think you won't have looking for some tunes :D

My reply might be a little late, but anyway I'd recommend kat-tun, they have more dance-y tune songs, like Don't you ever stop (ohh, I love that so much, my favorite) or one of the newer songs D-motion, that has a real disco-ish feeling. It might be worth checking out arashi songs too.
