Hitpoints to Constitution Skills

United States

So as you guys probably know, Runescape recently changed the Hitpoints skill by multiplying all the values by 10, and by renaming it "Constitution". Personally, I think it's kinda cool. It just seems like you're hitting more when you see 80 instead of 8, especially for skills like range in f2p where you're not hitting much originally. Also, damage-wise, my max hit with melee would be 16 before, but now I'm seeing 164's and such, which would convert to 16.4...so I'm actually hitting a little more, but in the old system, it would just be rounded down. What do you guys think of this change?

The update isn't a good idea at all for the present game since most players are used to the 2 digit hits. Multiplying it by 10 causes quite a bit of confusion, especially for Pkers and monster hunters (corp beast, td, gwd etc). I see quite a lot of potential for this update. But Jagex need to implement those soon like the constitution potion which they've mentioned in the dev diary and similar items could make the change a good one.

Yes, I agree that it was somewhat confusing at first. It took some time getting used to the whole concept, but after playing for a little, I got the hang of it (I think)...it really shouldn't take too long, I don't think.

I do not like this update, because even though you can hit higher, you can also get hurt higher... I think Jagex just released this because they don't have much to do or something...

Well, if all the hit values are multiplied by 10, then it shouldn't be a big deal, because their max hit is still the same, just 10x higher...but percentage-wise, out of your total health, it's still the same. It might just seem a like it's more at first, but it really isn't.

I think it is a great change. I myself feel im doing more dmg but im not quite shur how the exp was changed. I feel they need to fix the exp to account for the hp increase. I wish you were guaranteed 1 dmg every attack or have it say block or something cooler than 0 dmg.

Yea, though with the whole "Constitution" skill concept now, they might do something like that in the future updates...who knows? But it would be new and cool. I'm not really sure how the exp has been affected; they probably use some sort of proportion to calculate it, but it's something I can't do while in combat, so I'll just have to trust that it's accurate. =P

Personally I myself thinks it's awesome! It gives a realistic tone to runescape If you know what I mean. If you don't , I mean hitting high amounts of damage to monsters like in other MMORPG games. I don't though why they changed the name of it into constitution! If anyone knows can you answer that for me! Anyways great insight! Happy runescaping and MyLotting! - Fry

I don't like it. It creates more chance of hitting a really low hit :( For example when I'm in bh world, I was range/2hing someone and I got them down to low enough hp for the k0 but when I hit them with my 2h I hit a ...1. Lmao... :) Also with this constitution update ,all the old max hit videos by Sosold20k now seem weak :( not so fantastic anymore...

Heck, It really didn't change anything for me. My hits were good to begin with. I'm anxious to see what else they've got in store. When the constitution affecting stuff rolls out then the real fun will begin.

Personally I like the idea of this but find it very confusing when I am in combat, but I usually just skill when I am on-line anyway so this update does not affect me much. I like the fact that this update can make possibilities of new weapons and such, like weapons that raise out lp, how cool would that be? I hope I do get used to it though, I don't want to die in combat by accident because I got confused my the hits.

Well I lean towards the its a bad change. Well first off its confusing alot of players now espeicially me. Also changing the name is also going to throw some people off because runescape players are so use to calling it hitpoints. Personally I don't know why they made this update I myself think its a useless update in most cases.-Rezz
