Is there ever going to be 'real' popular music again?

What do you think? With all the manufactured bands and clones of clones of clones, same old rubbish released year after year, will popular music ever be dominated by actual artists again? By that I mean people who sound different to one another and are (as far as possible) original. Personally I've given up on hearing anything decent from the mainstream avenues. It's all just bland repeats of a mediocre product in the first place (dance music, soul singers, rappers: all just like the last one who was cr*p ;) ) Any chance of it you think, actual artists in the mainstream ?

If you are only referring to the international popular music then there is a possibility that only less unique music are released and become popular. I suggest that if you are into a music which involves unique artist then try and listen to other countries music. Such as if you're leaving from the United States, try and listen to the music genre of Japan. Although you can understand what they are saying unless you will try to learn their language Lol!

I can't understand what a lot of bands say when they sing in english, so no worries :-) Thanks for the suggestion!

I have never watched Lady GaGa perform before.. or listen to it for that matter, because the very name and imagery that she's portrayed almost makes me ill. Last night while channel surfing I happened to come across a performance that she was doing for the song "Telephone". I wanted to puke. Her dress was risque as was supposed to be her dance performance, but I've seen nine year olds shake it better than she could. I think that the entertainment industry has straight up gone to hell. It's like some black hole opened up and swallowed nearly every original thought that remained on the planet...
