Does anyone find that older people are often more rude than younger ones? There have been a few times when Ive been someone busy and older people have pushed back without even saying "excuse me" but younger people have been more polite.

Yes donna, younger people are more polite and smart. Older people have many physical and mental problems. That may be the cause for their rough behavior.

You know, I doubt that manners is an age thing. The fact is there are a lot of rude people of all ages, from one to one hundred. I do find it amusing that people consider rudeness with teenagers a lot of the times. Which is earned in many cases, but I do know teenagers that are much more polite that many adults, who decide that manners is something that is optional. Still, I noticed that old people can be a bit toward the rude side at times. Not to mention rather cranky, if they shove you and you say something, thinking that they are in the wrong. The problem is a lot of them are at the age where they do not care what they say or do. Many of the stereotypes associated with older people can be true, when you consider rudeness.

I'm not sure. I think today that many children just aren't taught manners by their parents. I can't count the number of times I have been practically mowed over by young people with no word at all. Heck, in the neighborhood where I live, I have had kids leave their bikes right in the middle of my driveway or be standing there when I pull in from work and in no hurry to move! With older people, I honestly think the older you get, the less you care about what others think of you. They make less of an effort to filter what they say or do, I have seen it time and time again. Sometimes I think some elderly people feel they have 'earned it' to behave however they want to regardless of how it comes off.

Quite the contrary, in my opinion. In my place of living, the teenagers here (apart from me) are spoiled and have no manners at all. On the other hand, aged people don't seem to have many manners at all, as if they think that their age is an excuse for their rude manners. Which means, everybody are rude. Lol.
