I found my lost dog!

I recently lost my dog and after three days he came back! He ate a lot and the vet says he's still perfectly healthy. I'm overjoyed and now I want to do something nice for him, but I don't know what. Got any ideas on what I should do for him?

Give him more attention, spend more time with him, take him for a walk more often. Show how much you care about him. Maybe he ran away to look for some female.

Considering every dog I have ever owned has just wanted a ton of love and attention that is what I would give your pup. Lots of love and play time.

Oh, I am so happy for you! I have three dogs and I know I would be heartbroken and worried sick if one of them disappeared! Your dog probably doesn't realize how lucky he is to be back home again. Reward him by always keeping him close to you from now on!

Yeah we haven't stopped playing with him since we found him and it was one of the scariest things to ever happen especially because when we lost him it was in the middle of a crazy storm and I was sure we had lost him after so long. Its amazing that he found his way back.

There is so many things you are not saying. How your dog was lost for instance. Did it escape from a fenced yard, was it let out of the wrong door and wondered off. I am a trainer and in 99 % of all lost animal cases it could have been avoided. I am not saying this to be mean, most people that have pets care for them very much and are heart sick when something happens to them. If your dog is or not trained, more training couldn't hurt. That means spending more time with them is there and they like that much more than anything..

This probably doesn't sound like the nicest thing you could do for him right now but it really is the best thing you can do for him; go get him microchipped. This way in the event that he does ever get out again, if he is picked up by the pound or taken to the vet, they can get in contact with you quickly. Then give him lots of love and attention. You could even go buy him a new bed, some treats and a new toy.

Give him a chain with his name on it including your contact number. Does he got one? You're very lucky. You can take your dog for a stroll so you have longer bonding time. Try talking to him all the time. I'm sure you did all these things don't you. I'm an animal lover too. I have three cats and they are very lovable. I wish I could afford to have a dog, but my daughter says that if I have one, my cats will get jealous.

Congratz.. Give more love to your dog, spend more time to play with him/her... maybe take the dog to dog parks frequently..
