Quicktate from my research is a site where We transcribe voicemail messages, memos, letters and other documents. The voicemail message files average 1-2 minutes in length, while the other recordings are typically longer and you can get paid for them. Sorry for copying the stats but: Quicktate typists are paid based on the number of words they type, at the rate of 1/4 (one-fourth) US cent per word. So, if you typed 50 words per minute (assuming there were enough jobs to keep you typing for the entire hour), then you would probably earn about $5.00-$7.00 per hour. Quicktate Medical Transcription pays 1/3 (one-third) cent per word. Note that Quicktate compensation is not the same as iDictate. While Quicktate pays a quarter cent - one third cent per word, iDictate pays one-half cent per word. In all cases, accuracy, spelling, punctuation and formatting is important. Do your best. To summarize: iDictate Compensation is one-half cent per word. ($0.005/ word) Quicktate Compensation is one-quarter cent per word. ($0.0025/ word) Quicktate Medical Compensation is one-third cent per word. ($0.0033/ word) Typists are paid by Paypal. The pay periods are: 1st-15th and 16th-end of the month. Typists are paid within 10 days of the end of each pay period, unless pay-day falls on a holiday or a weekend, in which case you will be paid on the next business day following the holiday or weekend. Would love some feed back from anyone who has tried this. Heard most people earn around 200 dollars from this by spending around 4-5hrs of work a day. So, it is a typical part time job and I think it is interesting. I'm still having problems with registering with them though as I have no reference and I got this site from researching one of Trekpays most constant blog ( Tututina ) So I'd reckon I'd share this information. Seems it is legit from what I've read from the other blogs and there is a chance to get paid better if you get into iDictate. Hope this is good information to all the mylotters here. Cheers !

hi redthaidevil! I just received a welcome email from them after maybe 5 days of sending them my application through the website. I still have yet to install their software and try it myself. I will post some info here once I have tried it firsthand.

Hey visijay32! I sure hope you get a welcome mail very soon! Let us know how you feel about working with QT ok? Anyway I started working with QT today, and I've had maybe 4 recordings that came in. Easy to transcribe. It's kinda slow, I mean the waiting time for work to come in is so long. Possibly because I am at +8 GMT (HK.MANILA time) and daytime for me means nighttime to US. I might stay up late tonight to wait for work to come in. This is kinda addicting to tell you the truth. :) It's the start of the workweek (Monday) and I am waiting for the influx of work to come in soon!!

This is a wonderful information you have shared here and it could benefit all those who are interested in Transcription but are not able to get any good sources . I have done little bit of transcription work on oDesk but found it too boring for myself .Also the audio quality of the tapes which I got to transcribe was utterly poor and it got on my nerves . I would love to transcribe some good stuff which means that the audio quality should be good for hearing and understanding.. Nevertheless I would surely look at this site for some exploration . Thanks.

Yes I have applied with Quicktate since Jan. 2010 and I have received my pay since I started working with QT. It is not a scam but a legit one.

Are you still with Quicktate? How is the call volume? For two weeks now, calls are far and few in between. Are you experiencing the same problem?
