Do you think that dressing is important to give an impression?

I had a friend who was going to refer me for a job and he kept on insisting that i should wear something that would make a long-lasting impression.. what duh...? i mean, being dignified in a manner of how i dressed is surely something that i am aware of; clean, well-ironed out and i think the right combination of colors. Creating a long-lasting impression? Do you have any other ideas?

There were days when dress was not that important - but these days if you do not have anything to eat also dressing is given lot of importance. People get attracted to the dress of a person. Not only that the business we are into needs good dress because we will have to visit executives and impress them -this in turn needs good and attractive dress.

Yeah..those days when denim pants and a clean white Hanes shirt would do... anyways, i know how i look and how i carry myself, but i am really not into fancy dressing.. even for a job interview, i would wear a simple polo shirt and slacks.

Our appearance leaves an impression, good or bad. We should dress in a way that would reflect the job we are applying for. Then highlight the skills and assets we possess that would show our value to doing the job in question well. Hope you are successful in obtaining the job in question.

I think it is stupid. As long as your clothes are clean and wrinkle free and of course the colours that have to match, the only thing you combine with that, is yur own personality. That is important. TATA.

Yeah, i quite agree.. the book is not judged by its cover, what's important is what's inside, but then again, maybe i have sloppy cover and needs aesthetic covering..lol! anyways, thanks for the advice..

Being well-dressed for job interviews is certainly advisable. It may not create a long lasting impression, but it does give a good first impression. Believe it or not, people do based their impressions of a person by his dressing. A rule of thumb is, in order to impress, you've got to dress yourself up.

I have had several job interviews before with just a simple polo shirt, clean and neat. Fortunately, i always got the job based on my resume. i remember once in a job interview, there were around 300+ applicants, mostly wearing what would executives would wear, and i was just wearing my usual casual dressing. out of 300, only 7 were accepted and luckily i was one of them.

No never dress can never create long lasting impression. But for job i think for first impression dress code should be good. But it will not lasting for forever. Well for our self we should wear clean dress. Not for impress some one else. Then it will be fake impression.
