You would like to build a house on the seashore, or on a mountaintop? What would be the ideal, the scenery where you would like to live? You would like to wake up this morning to the noise made by waves, or to feel the fresh mountain air, listen to the chirping of birds, see the forests around you?

i like the idea of having both, but if i would really have to choose, i think the mountain top sounds more ideal. you can get water from a stream, there is still life all around which would make living more easier

Well, I wouldn't want a house by the sea because I kind of have this...issue...when it comes to the ocean. I am TERRIFIED of sharks so the only water I really swim in is my swimming pool. BUT I also wouldn't really want to have my house on a high mountain top! I want animals, and I just don't feel that would be a really safe environment for them. Plus I'm kind of scared of heights too! lol So can I cheat on this and say I would LOVE my house to be in an open valley, bordered by trees/mountains. And maybe a little pond near by where I could feed the fish/birds

I would like to buy a piece of land with a sea view in a rural area. Then I would build a bungalow so with my bedroom looking over the ocean. I would be able to wake up to the sounds of the waves splashing. In the late afternoon I could take my two dogs for a walk along the beach. They love to race up and down the sand dunes. My house would be on a quiet road with hardly any traffic going past.

i don't want to build a house either on the seashore, or on a mountaintop, as those two places are not able to lived with crowd, if this house only for a holiday or vacation place, that's nice. however, no more people have so much money to build a owner house only for a relex. even through, wake up on the morning to the noise made by waves or feel the fresh mountain air, listen to the chirping of birds, see the forests around you? that sound very comfortable, i would like to have my home in the city, anyway, home is a sweet place at any time. good luck and have a nice day!

Hiya icesmile, A House that is in the mountain but near to the Sea you can have that in some places. But not a big flashy house just something comfortable to live in that´s all. So I would be able to dip my toes in the Sea and listen to the Birds singing on my way back up the mountain again. Best of both worlds eh?

me, i like to build my home not too near mountain and not too near the sea. reason being on mountain top, its too far away from the crowd and the altitude factor.i like my home where facilities are readily available any hours of the day and nite and whatever seasons. too close too the sea in also not my idea. sea water and winds are saltish and things go rusty fast. i just want my home to be built on firm solid ground and when it rains, floods, storms and strong winds, my home stands strong and will not rock. my home is my place to unwind and relax. home sweet home, anytime.

Either one would be fine with me. The beach house would have to be right by somewhere I could go snorkeling. But I'd love a mountain house too.

Hi, icesmile. I would like to live on the flat surface. Not near any seas or mountaintops. I am afraid of heights and I am very skeptical of living so close to the waters. I don't want my kids to walk outside and go near the water. Living on dry land will work better for me. It has to be a flat surface and not anything high.

my wife had their present house along the beach. and when the time i am to retire, i wish to build my own house beside their ancestral house. i always love the sound of the waves but also love to hear the birds sing.

I prefer to build my house at mountain, because I like cold climate and fresh air. I think if we build at the sea, we will get hot climate. I dislike hot temperature.

Can I do both and have two homes that I can visit depedning on my mood because that's what Id need. Sometimes I just love the beach: the sand, the water, the sounds, the feel, the birds and everything about it. And other times I love the mountains: the atmosphere, the scenery, the isolation, etc.

The ocean. I lived in hawaii and loved going to the beach and hearing the ocean all the time. It was sooo relaxing.

Hmmm. It's difficult to cure, like the samenamed track of Deep Purple album.I am joking of course.I like the both kinds. It's ridiculous to say(for me) that I prefer the sea than the mountain ot vice versa. If I have only one choise I will get the mountaint.I like it a little bit more than the sea.May be the fact that I have been living near the mountain get the balance of mountain's avail! That's my oppinion. Regards!

Both places invite risks. With all the tsunami news we hear and soil erosion I wouldn't want to take the risk. I rather build my house on lowlands.

If there is such a chance, I would like to build my house nearby the sea. First, the traffic shall be much more convenient nearby the sea than in the mountain. Second, I like the sea more than the mountain. It is just so relaxing to see the sea and play in the beach. I love China

Oooh, this is a tough question! I would want both! But I suppose if it was to live in year round, I would choose a house by the sea, so as to avoid wintery troubles driving in the mountains. I love the ocean and beach communities, the culture is always so relaxed and people are much nicer to each other by the sea! The mountains, though, are an amazing place to escape and reflect, and I think that mountain towns have a great community culture too.

Hi, if I had a choice, I would build two smaller house, one on the seashore, where i can live in summer, make beach, to swim all summer, and the other house I would build a mountain, in a forest where to live winter to see snow on mountains, to ski, to skate, make fire in a large home, nostrils to feel the cold air in the morning you go out. can be heaven in both places, depend only of seasons.

I've built my dream house and it sits up against a desert mountain. I've lived by the ocean and loved it, but the desert SW with its 365 days of sunshine won out.
