Do you think email providers will keep your privacy? Don't they have the access to all the financial transactions using your email? Are you hacked once on your email address?

I doubt that because if they do observe privacy issues we would not be getting a lot of spam mails! I had yahoo before but I left because I get bombarded with tons of spam mails every single day! I would loose important emails because of these unsolicited mails from companies. does this not bother you? I switched to gmail and so far I like it. I seldom get a spam mail.

i have addresses at ymail and gmail. I mainly use yahoomail and i mark emails that are spam and they go to the spam folder. Then you could easily trash out the spams. I also get spams at my gmail account but it also goes to the spam folder and are easily deleted if it piles up.

basqui, I feel the answer to your question here, will really have to be who you choose to be your email host. I am sure your decision and choice here is of the essence. It is also the best move to go with the majority or consensus as far as this is concern. You may have your own mailbox from your ISP signed up account and this is definitely the most exclusive and private of the lot. However, this may tie you down unnecessarily where you will have to remain as their account holder despite your preference of a better network offer. Web email may be able to resolve the above problem by providing wider accessibility and no unnecessary tied downs. However, choosing reputable hosts like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail will be a better and sound advocate than any others. Your email accounts are usually not the center of hacker's attention and accounts are usually hacked when the account holders are careless with their online habits and using an ill installed equipment. Lastly, I am unsure what you are sending over online but let me just say that there are always ways to send your emails securely like a private network and encrypting or password access coding your documents. So, you should consider what your safety requirements needed to send your sensitive documents. Have a nice day.

I think that isp mailbox is not applicable on what i'm using now because i'm using a modem dongle that runs on satellite network. I'm using yahoomail and gmail for my financial transactions. thanks for the time in sharing your knowledge about email providers.
