Do you feel ashamed of earning online?

Hi, friend. Here is the situation. When i was a postgraduate in 2005, i was in urgent need to earn some extra cash to afford all the books related to my research field as i didn't want to ask my parents for money. So i searched for earning programs and came to know about online earning. Though i joined numerous sites to help me earn, mylot was the only one that i'm still working on now. As you know, active referrals help you faster. So i tried to get referrals. But the problem was i never dared tell my classmates and friends about my online earning or invited to be my referrals for fear that they might laugh at me. I felt kind of ashamed for online earning. In my friends' eyes, earning online was something humiliating. Because of this, i never told anyone about my online earning. Even for now, i still keep it to myself though i no longer think online earning as a shameful thing. What about you? Have you ever thought that online earning is shameful as you are in such a financial difficulty that you have to rely on the small amount made online? Hope to hear from you:-).

Well that's something new to me. Most people I've come across, although they may doubt the ability to earn online, most are intrigued by the concept of actually being able to earn any amount of money online. Every little bit helps especially in these days & times. Making money online is an additional income stream, and that's definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Forget the naysayers and just keep on smilin' to the bank! You may be earning small amounts now, but online earnings can grow with a snowball effect and you could be cashing in some nice checks eventually. It is possible; I've seen it myself. From pennies - to dollars - to hundreds of dollars and growing... Oh I feel so ashamed and embarassed to have admitted this publicly. I must go hide under a rock now lol...

You have a good sense of humor, friend. You almost make me laugh:-). I understand now that online earning is actually something to be proud of, rather than be ashamed of. At least it proves my ability to earn through my knowledge, effort and also patience. I'm far better than those who just stayed here for a single day and then disappeared as if they had never existed.

Hi, Valkerion. You must be very skillful at online earning. It almost seems miraculous to me that you could be able to make double the amount of what others make by working ten hours a day. I have to admit you are a real genius. Perhaps i should learn some of your techniques too:-).

There's no shame in earning online. It's not shame that's the issue, in my case, its convincing friends that it's really possible to earn online. Most of my colleagues are clueless on how to earn on line. My wife is the most doubtful of them all. I guess she's clueless since she don't know anything about computers. But it changed when she saw my mylot earnings in my paypal account. Now, she wants me to withdraw all of those. But it's not going to happen anytime soon

Thanks for responding, friend:-). Perhaps you are right. They just don't know anything about online earning. There are still many people who are in complete ignorance of making money online. But to my classmates and friends, a person can never become better off through online earning. It's the small amount that they look down upon.

Since it is new thing that many may be in doubt about online earning. Also there are many sites do not pay on reaching the Payout. As we are not confident about the sites that are paying like Mylot, we certainly feel hesitant to inform our friends. Also, some sites wants ,the referral should not be around us and it should be spread in the world. So, online earning are not shameful. When the Computer was introduced, many were thinking, the unemployment will be more but it has proved otherwise. Lot of opportunities were created. On line earning is one of the way to reduce the unemployment. The people with little knowledge may not be able to get suitable job and also they may not be able to go a place and earn. For them it is an opportunity. And some may not like to work under a Master and for them also it is a boon. And it is also boon to the handicapped who can not move out the residence but they have enough knowledge, to earn in online business. The Scam sites only gives us trouble by taking out time and labor to waste. If the Scam sites are controlled it is one of best way to earn with dignity and honor Thanks Mylotting..

You gave an accurate explanation to online earning my friend, thanks. Actually, before i read your response, the idea that online earning could be a way to reduce the unemployment rate had never occurred to me. I almost felt ashamed of myself. All the time, i just think that people earn online mostly just for fun because it's extremely difficult to make through online working as much as we make through a full-time job. But i've neglected the fact that many people can't go out to work for different reasons and online earning programs are exactly what they need.

There were cue and cry when computer came into India. Then, people in India including myself advocating that our work will get reduced. But that also proved wrong. We were compelled to expand the business limitation.Also. today you and meet chat,it is because Mylot gave opportunities to do the chat and earn. Even my views are not heared by my neighbors, but now it is heard by many Mylotters and the viewers of Mylot around the world.

For me it's not really a shameful thing. It's just that I don't want my friends blaming me when a site is closed or somethings like that. Now I make online as a way to be able to get extra income and get something for myself.

I totally understand. If we referred a friend to a site which may turn to scam later, the friend will perhaps blame us. Persuading friends to join in a site as our referrals is somewhat a dilemma.

Absolutely right. That's why I prefer to recommend online friends to be my referrals rather than friends in reality.

Yeah I agree with you. There's a difference between having friends online and making them referrals, than friends who don't have an idea about it. Online friends won't blame you for it(I think) They already know how making money online works..

I don't see any valid reason for being ashamed of earning online. Only a few of us are able to find genuine sites that pay; most of them have been cheated by fraudsters... Why should you feel that way? Be proud of being here and say it with pride that you're paid for your writing. Your opinions are valued here. My joining of this site, coincided with my joining a new job; that is why, I have not been able to fetch many people here. But once I get set in the new office, I'll let them all know that I make money online, will motivate them to join here. The wonderful thing about myLot is that they value our opinions. Don't feel ashamed of being here!!!! Have fun!!!

I'm not ashamed of it anymore after I've got so much encouragement and support from mylot friends. Yes, the best thing about mylot is that they value and pay us for sharing our opinions. It is also good for us too because we learn to write in a quality way, which is of great help for those who are also working on other writing sites too. For people who are interested in writing and seriously think of taking online writing as a way of living, there could be no other better sites than mylot.

I can understand your hesitation back then. Online earning was pretty new to many of us back then. I think it is far more popular today and does not come with a sense of shame. I started earning online maybe back in 2006 or 2007 but was never ashamed of it. Excited was more like it. Even today when I share with some people that I earn online the response is one of surprise with interest. They too normally want to know how they can do the same but of course not many can be bothered with the length of time and dedication plus the effort it takes to earn the small amounts we earn on the various sites. Heck.. sometimes I dont have the time or the zeal but the funds do come in handy.

Yes, that's right. I was totally ignorance of online earning until about 2006. Back then, I seldom saw news about online earning. But now it is all over there with diversified categories. I'm no longer ashamed of it now and actually short after I started this discussion, I told my brother about it and he was all astonishment. He continued asking me about how I can earn online and was eager to participate too. I recommended mylot, but unfortunately, he doesn't know any English.

I understand how you feel, cause I was like that before, but now I tell a lot of people about it, cause I really earn, and I don't bother with referrals anymore, sometimes I just tell them to help them, specially if they also need extra money. Some people might think that you have financial difficulty, but who cares right, as long as you're earning money. Hehehehe.

I agree with you on that, friend. Online earning is indeed time-consuming, but it is well worth our time and effort because we are not just earning here, we are also learning new knowledge and making new friends. While mylotting, i'm practicing my english in the meantime. Though i'm not sure whether my english has really improved, my friend has convinced me of my apparent improvement. That's a valuable benefit besides money. I'll stick to mylot to learn to earn.

well the same thing also happens with me often so i now don't tell anybody about my online programs...most of my friends didn't believe that anybody can earn money from this kind of program and also they always ask at the very beginning of my explanation that how much i have earned already from this kind of programs and then they becomes interested to see the payment proof....i am not really ashamed but i becomes irritated to see their reaction....

Yes, it also irritates me a lot when my friends keep asking me how much I've earned so far. In their imagination, it must be a big amount. But actually it's just a few dollars in which they have no interest at all. So I think it's better for me to just keep it to myself. Whatever they think about this, it doesn't matter much. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

I feel that earning money online is a great thing. I enjoy making a little extra money. I am hoping to earn the next couple of months so I can pay for my gardening supplies. I want to plant strawberries, corn on the cob, peas as well as flowers. There is no shame in making money online. With the bad economy and jobs being scarced making money online may help people out during these tough ecomomic times.

Hi, friend. It's great to know that you're going to make good use your online earnings. I'm also planning to purchase some items with my earnings. I agree that online earning provides a new working opportunity for lots of laid-off workers who are perhaps suffering below the poverty line due to the financial crisis. Many of my classmates have already experienced decrease in income last year. Perhaps online earning could be a good choice for them to cope with their difficult situations. Thanks for responding.

i share your experience, my friend. i don't get much in terms of referral because i don't want some friends and associates that i have that "so much" time squandering on penny sites. with mylot, i think there is an intrinsic reason, other than money, that keeps one in continuing to mylot... but of course, the pay is tolerable.

Thanks, friend. I'm now not working on any other sites apart from mylot, and i'm not really confident in getting any referrals as none of them was active for more than a week. I think i should just work on my own since i'm not in urgent need of money right now and many people around me don't know much about english.

Thanks for responding, friend. I always value honesty greatly. Whatever i do, i do it with an honest attitude and earning online is no exception. I've already learned that making money online is not something shameful but rather the same as doing other jobs. We all devote effort, time and commitment to it. There is only one difference between earning online and earning in reality. The former requires us to work from home while the latter needs us to go outside. Besides this, there is no more difference.

I actually feel a lot of pride in being able to earn online. Not many people I personally know are into this so they are sometimes surprised to know about how I earn through my blog, and a few other sites like MyLot. I don't feel any shame about earning online because it is clean and honest, at least what I engage in. Now if it was shady and I was scamming other people, I probably won't talk about it amongst friends. I don't actively promote it to friends though, even if, I realize, I lose potential earnings for affiliates. :)

Hi, friend. Thanks for your response. It's true that many people are not into this online earning thing. Some may think it's too much time-consuming and also needs hard work. Well, whatever we do, we do it according to our own interest. Anyway, we can't always expect others to share the same views as we do.

I've never been ashamed of earning online but I learned shortly after I started that telling friends and family about it and trying to get them as referrals is not a good idea. They either think it's a scam or that you're trying to take advantage of them somehow. The only way to get referrals is to find like minded people online that are already looking for a way to make money. I get most of my referrals directly from my website about ways to make money online and other online marketing methods. The best time to tell your friends and family about it is after you are making good money. Then, act like you don't want to tell them the details. They'll be begging you for more information!
• China
20 Mar 10
I agree with you on this point. Trying to get friends as referrals is never a wise idea, even though your main purpose is to help them to earn. They may doubt that you are thinking of taking advantage of them. When I once told my roommates about it and suggested her to join Mylot, her first reaction was doubtful and sceptical. Then she asked me whether she would help me earn more if she join too. That's way too frustrating. So now I don't bother with referrals anymore. I just work on my own and so far I'm happy with what I earned here.

I have the same situation with you, though i have a job. I know mylot by accident,a friend of mine told me this site, i browsed for many times and feel it is a good place,on the one hand, English is my second language , i want to learn it well, in other hand, you also can earn while sharing the stories or your mind with other people around the world. So i joined in, when i have spare time, i will come here and see if there is something interesting. I don't think earning online is a ashamed thing, but i don't tell my colleagues that i was earning online, maybe if it is know by my boss, she will think i'm not work hard.LOL~ But i tell my friend the site, because it is a good site, sometime, you can learn a lot from different people, though maybe we don't know each other, but the friends here never stingy of their couraging words. Why i'm feel ashamed?

Hi, friend. Thanks for sharing. I didn't tell my friends and classmates about my online earning thing, and now i still don't tell my colleagues about it. The reason is that my current job is really a well-paid one. I guess my colleagues don't need that extra money as all of them are married and they don't have to work so hard all by themselves. But i'm unmarried and i need to live on my own. In addition, i have to support my parents too. So i figured that earning online may help me in some ways.

No, I'm not ashamed, but I think a lot of people would't understand it. They would think that this is not true. However, I told my closed friends and some of them entered the program and some not. What I would say is that you must be confident of you and your results. If they don't believe it or worse will start making jokes about it, then they're not truly friends.
