The choice has to be made by your brother. You may give your own opinion on what's the best course according to your assessment so your brother can also make up his mind. There are a lot of people who graduated in college but they're not happy with it because it's not their choice but that of their parents. I personally know a colleague who has this case. We have to take into consideration that a persons course will help him in his success in life eventually. It's important that a person is passionate about it so in case he fails, he can only blame himself and not anybody else. But i doubt on the premise of failure in something that you are passionate about. More often the results are more success than failure.

Well I think choosing a college course does not depend on what course is popular and what is not. It will depend on what skills he would like to improve on. It is important to know what are his interests and what he would like to be when he finishes college. There are many who choose because that is popular and later in life they realize that it was not their real choice in life. Let him realize that as early as now.

Hi LienRose, Well, I think it's up to your brother. What do helikes to do? Does he have any special skills? Is he good at what? What is his favorite subject? As a brother, help him pick out the course which he fits in, which he can see himself fulfilling his dreams. Don't care about what's "in" or what courses are in demand and booming. It shouldn't be the criteria in choosing a course. Why am I saying this? Because I'm one of the unfortunate who didn't have the chance to pick my OWN course. It was decided by my parents that I take up nursing, for the cliche reason of being "in-demand" abroad. I went with the flow, graduated and successfully passed the boards, but I still couldn't find a stable job amidst the global crisis. I'm not happy with my career. So, my advise is, don't choose a course just because of its popularity nowadays, choose a course that best fits you and you can see yourself becoming successful on it. Hope this helps.

If there was just 1 best choice, I prefer to the mathematics. First of all, mathematics is the fundamental for most areas, for instance, the Physics, Business, and Finance. If you wanted to be well paid, you should study mathematics well. Secondly, studying mathematics well will help you to get a logical thinking, which is very significant quality for people to macke decision.

Bachelors degree must be of choice. Today's trend in career around the globe still goes most in health care. So paramedical courses is still in demand. As you can see despite the international crisis business jobs decline but not affecting the institutions of health. However courses like architecture and IT is not left behind. But for the case of your dear brother let him decide of his personal choice. It is very important that the decision comes from him because if its not his passion then sometime in the future he will not be successful.

I think 4-courses now are not very important anymore because there are more jobs that requires skills. Learning skills will take only a few months and you are already very good at it. When you graduated with a 4-year course, you dont get a job right away. Unless you have connections then its easier. But for me, there has to be a balance. Its good to graduate with a 4-year course and it is also good to have lots of skills. You can actually use both things at the same time.
