Lifestyle change due to Internet?

The tremendous influence of the Internet on the lives of people is undeniable. From the way we source information to the way we shop, the Internet is always there. Even in the manner of making communications, the Internet is indispensable. When we go on a exercise regimen, we almost always download it from the Internet. And so is a weight-losing diet, also sourced from the Internet. Do you think our lifestyle have been largely influenced by the Internet?

Well it definately changed my life a lot. I am really lost without the internet. Or maybe i am just getting too lazy, to do it the old fashioned way. TATA.

I think that Internet has had a huge effect on peoples life. I mean, we have much more time now that we can do our banking and shopping via Internet. There is so much information available, we don't have to go to the library in case we want to find out more about one or another topic. I think that Internet has saved us lots of time, but also given a whole new ways to waste it. There are many different sites that offer many different ways to spend your free time. There are even some, that offer you a chance to earn some extra money. MyLot is the site that unites these two things - you can entertain yourself there and also earn some money for it!

that's absolutely correct, biomechanoid. internet is nearly in all aspects of our life, making it easy and more convenient to do the things we usually do -- the hard way -- in the past. thanks for the response.

At one stage, yes, my lifestyle was changed due to internet. With internet, I get more lazy and tend to rely quite heavily on internet. I would be hooked onto the computer until I ignore everybody and anything and my eyes were glued to the computer screen. Lucky I break the momentum and at least, enjoy a more balanced life.

Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. The Internet has had a huge effect on many people's lives all over the world. Before it arrived I didn't miss it, but if it was to suddenly disappear, life would take on another different meaning. It's strange really, because everything would just go back to what it was, but it would take some adjusting to. _Derek

Absolutely! Internet has changed our lives a lot. Beginning with education and learning, then job searching and bidding, communication with others is more rapid, finding all information you want (trustful sources only!) and so on. I could not live without internet. It is like food and water to me. I cannot imagine it is possible a life without internet any more.

yes.. Nowadays, people get use to internet that's why people are getting weaker. Having sedentary lifestyle like sitting in front of your computer in a day doing things like surfing is one of the causes why people are prone to disease. They forget to do exercise, doing outdoor activities or simple works that could stretch their muscles. And sadly, sometimes, people choose to face their computers rather than to bond with their family.

well, that's one of the downsides. it promotes sedentary workstyle. but we can always rub on some easy exercises while sitting in front of the computer -- breathing exercises, raising the legs every now and then, even picking up the dumbbells while waiting for an application to open up... thanks for the response, shena...

i also agree with you, internet had influenced a great lifestyle change in most of us. i for one had changed a lot, sleeping pattern, workplace attitude because even the work and tasks are mostly internet related and communication with other office stations are now through emails or instant messages. i also know one person who loves to drink a lot. but when they got internet at home, he stays at home more time with his family while he is in front of the computer.

smoker? if only in an air conditioned room, people could lessen smoking especially if it is an office. but if the smoker is in their own house, like for me for example, can still smoke while on the internet, in front of their computers.

This is an interesting topic. I would have to say, yes, I agree with you on this. As you correctly pointed out, the internet comes into play in a large number of things today- be it shopping, entertainment, communication or information. I am on a vacation right now and since I am not doing anything fun today, I am chilling out on myLot. So there! The internet once again. One thing though. I do think that like everything else in life, the internet too has its flip side. I know a number of people who get glued to it and don't socialize as much as they used to. Hope you have a great day.

thanks for the response, cbeee. i would say that aside from interesting, the topic hits right into what is going on right now in every corner of the world. many people depend so much on the internet -- from making money, whatever there is to make, to putting all their eggs in that online basket. it's really amazing how the internet has made our life very differently from 20 or 30 years ago.

Earlier I used to try hard to keep alive contacts with people in my life but nowadays if there is indifference shown by them I do not make efforts to get them back in my life as I have enough friends in the virtual world to fill the gap, thanks to Internet.

Yes, it influenced life changes, people almost cannot live without the internet even those gadgets change rapidly to get the most recent updates the internet bring. It can cause negative and a positive effect to our everyday life. Negative is when we don't use it wisely and positiive if can use them properly like we can use to our productivity. A little, yes. I like it when I am able to make a purchase online. It saves me time and trouble. I have used the internet to get low fat recipes, so I guess in that way it has affected me too. I know what is healthy and not healthy, and I know what foods will give me energy. But I wouldn't rely on the internet for exercise plans. When it comes to exercise I need no help. I just need to do it!
