Is dependence on computers a good thing?

As with most topics, there are plus and minus points to consider. The modern world has many situations that require computer support while there are situations whereby computer dependency that cause problems. The regulation of nuclear reactors is a good example of requiring computers to control the conditions. It would quite dangerous to depend on human input only which could increase the chance of errors with catastrophic results. The real problem of dependency is the fact that too many businesses fail to allow for computer downtime, This results in a total standstill if the server fails, whereas they managed to operate quite well prior to the intruduction of an automated system.

I am a totally dependent on my laptop for literally everything.I owrk online.My business depends upon computer and internet completely.Apart form it i keep in touch with my people through social networking sites.I shop online.There are few things we dont get here in local market but they are always available here on ebay. i dont think so its a bad thing.Its a huge comfort and its a need of a time.

Nope. We shouldn't depend on computers but we can't avoid it. I always use computers every day. A day without computers is like a boring day to me. Well, computers are great. But if we really really depend on it (e.g don't want to do other things beside computer), it's not good, computers could kill humans if they depend on computers like that.

last time when i used computer to play gamble and trading online it was my most important key word , because i need to sell and buy and many processing at the same time and if suddenly my computer hang out it can makes me a deep problem and this i have experienced of it and it makes me lost some my money , depend on computer is not good but computer is really important to us nowadays when everything can purchase and sell online.

Well not really. But we have to think that: "Why are we dependent of computers?". Well because they make our lives so much easier that we start using them for everything. Nowadays almost everything happens on the internet; the news, school homework, making money and lots of other stuff. Computers+internet=communication

Yes, I think we can depend on computers for specific tasks but not everything. For example, if we want to get some information on any kind of topic, we get it immediately or we can even spend our time on computers by playing and stuff, etc. But as said we cannot depend on computers for everything. Nowadays, we people are spending so much time on computers, that it is effecting our health and so more other cases. So, according to me, we can depend on computers but not completely otherwise it may cause a problem.

computer is a kind of electronic device which help us lot in this practical and knowledgeable world but saying totally dependent on computer is wrong even though i am also working on computer most of the time it is also difficult for me to leave but we can't do anything because so many works we have in a day due to computer they are being complete but the actual answer of dependence totally on computer is wrong we don't totally dependent on computer.
