When news isn't news

March 19, 2010 11:56am CST
I was watching the news today and saw a report about a stripper joining a union. How is this news? I mean when did a stripper joining a union become credible. If there putting this on tv what wont they put on the air? In the the last 7yrs ive been calling the news a show; strictly for our entertainment, its not informational anymore.

what makes me mad is when they spend more time reporting on celebs (kobe bryant, oj simpson) than they do real news (earthquake in haiti). have we really moved to that point when people won't watch the news if mariah carey or lady gaga's not on it?

Then they over report also. like 5 days 24hrs about haiti, ok we know haitis bad, lets move on. I just over heard on the news that obama picks kansas as the ncaa champs ; how is that news? Its alot of crime going on political wars are being formed rules and laws are being made, why are we reporting on when barak picks kansas as ncaa champs? I only watch the news for hot anchors, theses days its not the message its the messanger.

lol I know what you mean, I think the news these days are actually about 95% fluff and 5% accidental news. This is why I do not watch news shows, instead I watch news clips on line.
