It is a monument commermorating the centennial of the signing of United States Declaration of independence , given to the United State by the people of France to represent the friendship between two countries.built in october 28,1886,area- 12 acres by Fredric Auguste Bartholdi.

It was dedicated in New York Harbor on October 28, 1886. Liberty Island. Thousands of visitors visits this place although they still have to acquire a pass. I wonder if the interior of the statue remains closed to this date. Although a glass ceiling in the pedestal allows views or the Lady Liberty, I think there is nothing better than being able to come close and touch the Lady Liberty.
