Do you want your laptop computer with a bigger screen but heavier or with a smaller screen but lighter? My laptop computer has a very big screen, and it is very heavy. Everytime I carry it out, I cannot stop regretting that I bought a computer so heavy. So if I buy another laptop computer, I will choose a lighter one with a smaller screen.

I think I will choose a lighter laptop with a smaller screen. Because the most important things for a laptop is easy to carry. For example, travel. While you are not home/workplace, you needn't to do a lot of work or something very complex. A small screen is enough.

Hi, dear Marmot, I think you are right. I just change my computer to one with a smaller screen but lighter. This one is much lighter than my last computer with a big screen. I am so happy with this.

I don't take my computer out all that much. But I'm not all that strong, so I go for as light weight as humanlly possible. the size of the screen really doesn't matter to me because I'd turn it off if I could. But, I can't.... so I simply deal.

I never truly understood why manufacturers started producing laptops with large screens. They appear to be very popular, but as you suggest they are not exactly portable. I like the idea of a decent size screen and usually consider 15" to be a very good standard. My current laptop is a 15" widescreen, which to me is the ideal balance between a good display and portability. I doubt if the people who buy large screen laptops take them along when on holiday, which I always do. Buying a laptop for home use only seems pointless when desktop systems are cheaper and far easier to upgrade or repair.

I want my laptop to have a smaller screen so that it is lighter and a survey states that smaller laptops can retain battery much more than the heavier ones. Well, if you ask in the case of a desktop, I would prefer a big LCD screen. I want to get a 27" screen to replace my current 20".
