What song or movie has made you cry?

There is a particular song that I really enjoy from an artist called Ada. It's called "Yes" (you can listen to it on loveworldrecordsinc.com/assets/songs/music.php). I sent my colleague the link to listen to the song, and when I came later to ask her how she found the song, she was in tears. I asked what the matter was, and she said, in tears, that it was just such a beautiful song it made her cry. I was a little amazed because I love the song but it has never moved me to cry. Then I tried to remember if any other song, or move has made me cry. The movie "The Passion Of The Christ" brought me close to tears, but I didn't cry. Has any song or movie brought tears to your eyes?

What's the story about, ashwin? And how long is it? I'd like to find one with English subtitles, as long as it's less than three hours long!

There are so many songs and movies that have already made me cry. The only movie I can remember crying to is the first movie that I've cried to, and that is "The Land Before Time". It's an animated movie and I was like 9 at that time. It's the first ever movie to make me cry, so that's the unforgettable.

till date there is no movie that can make me cry, maybe some ones can make me sad, but not enough so that I can cry- and till now there are only two movie, which can make me really close to begin crying- "Armagedon" and "The green mile" these both only. and there is only one song which has made me cry twice in my lifetime- it is Marc Anthony's song "You sang to me" after some quarrels with my ex-girlfriend!

Oh yes...Indeed! 'ARMAGEDDON'....That was the first move that made me really cry, with 'Passion of the Christ' I was close. I need to find that movie and re-watch it as it was many years back and then I was still younger and more emotional. I wonder how it will feel like to watch it now that I am older and more mature. Good one Phoenix, you brought back some good memories!

That actually just reminds me, dreamsharmin.I have watched some Indian movies (I don't know what language they were in) with subtitles, and the stories are really good. They're very good at capturing your emotions. The one movie I really enjoyed was called "Black." It was in English and Tamil (I think). One can definitely cry from watching them.

Uhm I usually get teary eyed when a song or movie moves me, but I try hard not to let the tears flow hehe. Coz I'm not really showy of my emotions. But one movie that had my tears flowing was The Classic, a Korean movie.

Yes, for me like many movies and songs make me cry or some of the songs me smile and happy all of a sudden. In movies, twilight has made me cry in each of its part. I find this movie really close to my heart, that whenever I watch the parts of twilight, I cry. Not only this movie but other movies as well. There are some songs of enrique, that when I listen his songs, I almost come to cry but I don't. But if already I am sad and I listen such songs, I start crying. Happy mylotting!

There were a lot of songs which made me cry. Love songs usually make me cry when I am in love. But you know, they are common. I must set them considered general truth as things that make all people cry. So, with this discussion, they are considered. Excluding love songs, one that made me cry was Carrie Underwood's version of Praying for Time. Listen keenly and carefully to it. You will know what I mean.

Mmm... I'll be sure to listen to it. You make it sound intriguing. Thanks uniqueorn.

"S a a a d movies always make me cry..." I wear my emotions on my sleeve and if something really touches me I start crying. The very first movie I went to see with my husband (then boyfriend ) in our initial dating days was "Ghosts" and I still get teased about taking his kerchief and never returning.

Hahaha! I guess now that you're married, his handkerchief is your handkerchief! So tell him to chill. Someone else mentioned Ghost as well. The soundtrack song is just one of the best!

I think I need to re-watch Armageddon! I don't remember most of it in detail. I think one usually remembers the emotional parts the most.

Saving Private Ryan was one of those sad war movies. But it had a feel-good ending. I don't think it made me cry, but the part when the old woman got the letters of her sons having been killed made me feel pain for her.

Aah yes, Titanic. A really great movie with all the right elements of a love story. Good one... I had actually forgotten about it. I think I did cry at the end of that movie (I've been denying it for so long that I can't remember anymore)! Thanks for that!

well yes, I am a very emotional person and most of the romantic and sad movies always makes me cry. One in particular is the movie "The Notebook" and also the movie "Hachiko" oh those were sad movies but songs never made me cry.
• South Africa

That's interesting. I think movies have more power to get emotional responses because they engage more of your senses at the same time - you can see as well as hear what's happening. I have also never been moved to tears by a song. "The Notebook" is another movie that I've heard a lot about... I should watch it. "Hachiko" I've never heard of. Is it a Japanese movie?

Bollywood movies are indeed all about the music and the colors, aren't they? They're very engaging emotionally... but they're usually so long. They ones I've watched are three to four hours longs, and I usually don't get to finish them. "Black" was one of the only Bollywood movies I was able to watch completely uninterrupted. Are there any other shorter Indian movies you can recommend?
