I think that a lot of people will agree that when it comes to religion or faith we all get involve and sometimes conflicts starts. But do any of you know the reason why? We all know the story on how God redeemed us from our sins, the message was sent, and still humans has not change at all.We are still the same creatures who wants more than what we have. And we don't stop. Even if we don't even know how to handle our crap, still, we want more. I guess people tend to get sensitive when faith is brought to a discussion because it may be a threat to their freedom, to their innermost interest, needs... We don't want something bigger than us because we always want to be in control, like something bad is going to happen all the time. We don't want to let go. WHy is that?

Some religions teach us to love and respect all. Others do not. I think most of us start conflicts when we feel attacked by those who have not learned to accept different people. A lot of people have closed minds and believe they are the only ones who are right. It's the basis for wars since the beginning. Whether its been about land, money or religion. I love my religion but I respect that other people may believe something different. But believe me, if I am attacked I will fight back. And I think most people feel that way.

The conflicts about religions and beliefs raise up because big amount of people believe in their own Gods - there I mean persons Superego God - this is God what individual uses for his own. He thinks that he is most powerful, most omnipotent etc., but in the same time this Superego God limits individuals freedom, He protects him, but in the same time He don't let him many things. This "God" hate if someone interrupts in His territory, and thats why He makes person so aggressive. Superego God is God of Law, God of Belief, God of Dependency and Control, God of the Group. The True God is only Loving God, he doesn't punish, He only forgives! He doesn't come angry when someone describes Him like something different, He is still, He proves Him only in His own action, with Holy Spirit and His Word. But until man will realize this God, he always will live only with his Superego God, fighting and struggling with others and himself.

Whenever I see people arguing on religion I think of the story of five blind men and one elephant. Each tried to perceive elephant differently because none could see. One blind man thought that elephant is like a big tree trunk. Another thought it is like a rope.... So one and so forth, only if they try to perceive the thing from others point of view then only they would know the truth. This is what exactly happens when it comes to religion. None knows his own religion too well. None knows the truth, yet they want to argue and insist that they alone know what God is. They think that the flight they have taken alone would take them to the destination, and others who have taken a flight from another place for the same destination would never reach. Unless they resolves these differences they will never come to an agreement; they would continue to bicker; and some will even kills others for the sake of their faith.

I do agree with you that we have still not learned our lessons but then I do not think I will just keep quiet and listen if someone keeps on saying wrong things about my faith or religion and I believe the same will be for everyone so I do not blame if conflicts happen because of religion. We has human beings should rise above this and see the reasoning and just not keep on bashing other people faith.

It always happen. I think it is because we are so attached to our religion and as we can see there are a lot of religion having their debates against each other. It is somewhat like politics and personalities that has different point of views. So what we can do for now is to respect each others relationship. I am hoping that one day we all (children of God) will reunite as one. God bless

I think religion is the most important identity of a person. it’s a way of our life, it’s a symbol of our race, our nationality, it’s a part of our pride, our very notion of existence, our only hope of redemption. So whenever we come across anybody commenting negatively on our religion, we are up against them in no time…we even fail to rationalize logically and argue with precision. We don’t let go simply coz we cant afford to let go. To most of us, letting go of our religious identity would be like losing ourselves, not being able to defend our religion is like letting down ourselves. That is why I think religious discussions are so controversial though I thoroughly enjoy participating in them.

hi frocas05 yes well maybe we should not try to change each others religions as we pretty much all worship the one God. Let it be, let it be,. let it be,here is mother mary saying let it be, let it be, let it be. courtesy of Beatles. What I am saying is I don't want someone trying to convert me to his or her religion, I have my own, I do not want yours, respect my beliefs, and I will respect yours. I will not try to make you change your religion so do not do this to me,. this is called the Golden Rule: do to others as you would have them do unto you. So a lot of the time its controversy over which religion is the right one or the best one when we should each just respect the other and get this, just shut up. let it be.God is bigger than me and I respect him. I do this in my own religion, so do not try to preach to me as I will not to you.

Letting go means that you are not your own person. That someone or something is doing the thinking for you. No one likes to be questioned about what they believe. Espically since people tend to be rude about it. It can often be a cause for mass confusion as well too. Quite frankly I simply don't know. But that's my two cents.

The thing is, our God is so generous and so loving that He even gave us free will to not believe Him. It is our choice if we do not believe in Him and as well it is our choice to keep our fire burning in desire for Him.
