I just read an article about food that helps fight wrinkles. That sounds nuts as wrinkles are part of the natural ageing process. But it is also true that some people have more and some have less (One of my movie star shocks was to see how beautiful Robert Redford had turned into a painful wrikled old man). In this article it says that all those healthy food we are eating because they are loaded with antioxidants (Vegetables, Beans, Olive oil, Nuts,Whole-grain bread) help slow down the ageing process too. Which known antioxidants do you eat? Do you eat them becausde you like them or because they are healthy? I use a lot of olive oil and it seems that each day I use more. I dont eat beans much because they don´t agree with me, but I do eat garbanzo beans, fava beans and lentils. The article also mentions broccoli as a must. I love it! And I find specially happy when someone "tells" me I have to eat a food I always eat just because I like it. Do you know any other eadible antiwrinkle tips?

Hi marguicha! I don't use absolutely any form of anti-ageing creams and concoctions but, with the exception of nuts, I eat all the things that you mention, including broccoli - and I am wearing very well Ilove vegetables, all sorts of vegetable, though I don't eat a lot of green leafed ones. Olive oil is used a lot here in Italy. I use it less than it is used in a native's menu but I do use it almost every day. If what you mention is the reson why my wrinkles are not appearing yet then I have no problem continuing the 'cure' because I absolutely adore vegetables! I also eat all sorts of bread. I alternate white and whole-grain bread and pasta too for the same reason. A use a smile to help any wrinkles that will form grow upwards rather than down but that's all I am consciously aware of

MysD - You are definitely aging well. I do not see even one of the tiniest little wrinkles in your bright, sunny face, but then again I guess that you could have just Photo-shopped all the wrinkles out of your picture.

Hiya marguicha, I eat all those too. Lentils is my favourite and Garbanzos no not the ones on your toes the chick peas as they call them in English. I love those Red Beans from Tolosa that give off a lot of liquid (caldo) with Acelga (Kale?) a bit of Jamon or simply with two potatoes, carrots and bit of celery and that´s it. I usually put chicken with most of these anyway trying to make them a bit lighter I don´t put in what they call Salami or (Chorizo) as it´s too greasy and fatty not good at all for digestion. Can´t think of any others for now but I mainly eat what you are mentioning and with gusto.

Please send the garbanzo recipe via PM. You can send it in Spanish if it´s PM. And we´ll understand each other better!Spanish is my native language. I have a friend that says acelgas are swiss chards. I dont know. But I plant them in my garden and they are the easiest veggies: they grow like weeds here. I make the garbanzos with pernil de cerdo ( pig´s leg, leg of a ham). I also use some rice sometimes. I never use chorizo to cook, except for tortilla de papas but I love to eat chorizo alone ( and die of it) Lentil are favorites of mine too. I can understand the story about the bibilical dish of lentils. Happy posting!

Hiya Marguicha, Well you might not like my version of Garbanzos so I will try to send you one a very good one when I can as I am in the middle of offline work too. I use a lot of greens with the chick peas I often put fried potatoes in at the end of cooking them just to appease these three and a big salad to go with it. Spanish Omelette is a must I cannot get away without doing most of the time. I am seeing a lot of different version of this recipe around when I go out to a Bar there are newer versions very simple versions but very tasty I would say too. I have heard of your version too before on the television however that has become really expensive for me to do at the moment. Will see what I can do marguicha a few other friends from Ecuador tell what they do as well but most end up adapting to the Spanish Food in the end or a mixture of both.

Hi Jo, I think wrinkles are becoming sometimes. I´m extremely partial to Clintwood´s wrinkles. I liked him from way back to those spaguetti westerns of my youth. I´m with ketoprofen now but I can´t see it helping. I woke up today wanting to cut off the d**ned arm! The doctor also gave me an SOS painkiller. It´s a morphin derivate, I bought it but I dont want to use it as long as I can stand the pain. The warm shower helps me a lot and a warm water bottle (not water bottle anymore but those new blue jell looking things that you heat in hot water). I also have a rice bag that I heat in the microvave oven. I hope your pain lessens. One can´t ask for it to go away completly but some days its in the worst stage.

We grow avocados in our country, but when we are exporting prices go too high. Right now, for some reason they are not so I´m buying them all the time. I use them in every posible way! Fruits and veggies are packed with the right kind on vitamins. Veggies that must be cooked should be steamed cooked and not overdo it. I like my cooked veggies "al dente". Take care!

yes i love it "al dente" cooked. it's not yummy when it's overcooked. in the province we have several trees of avocado and they're really bearing fruits. avocado is one of my favorite fruits and lucky me that anytime i want to it some i have the access.

Yes, there are many "anti-oxidant rich foods" that you can take to fight aging and its effects like the wrinkles, but there is one thing that you can do (not a food item) to stay young, wrinkle-free or less wrinkle, and sexy: Smile and avoid frowning. I have heard frowning accelerates the creation of wrinkles. And I'd like to ask the experts here, is that true?

I agree with you: smile helps a lot in many ways in life. I´m sure any expert will tell you that. I read once about the importance of kissing in health issues. This is about the same, I guess.
