Which is the better singing game? SingStar or American Idol?

i love the singing games i will admit 
but i cant decide which one i like more.. i have been playing american idol's games for wii and loved it but then i got singstar for playstation 2 or 3 and like it also.
the american idol game you can play in career mode and dress or change the appearance of your icon and seems to have more songs and you can unlock songs.
the singstar doesnt have any of that but has better songs and also plays the music video to the song while your singing.
im torn! i have a wii and my husband the ps3 and xbox 360 so i would rather play something for my wii but singstar isnt for wii..
which one do you prefer and why? did you partially choose that game just because you had the system to play it on or because you liked it better?
