[i]The leader of a key bloc of House Democrats opposed to abortion said Sunday that he is close to an agreement that would allow him to vote for the health care bill but he has not yet given a "yes."
President Obama could offer a presidential executive order saying that money used for insurance exchanges as envisioned in health care legislation pending in Congress will not go to fund abortion services.

When exactly would this order take place? would you take his word for it?

Abortion is such a sensitive issue that I would hate to see it included in any legislation that is as important as health care reform. Would I take Obama's word for it? Sure. I believe that he considers this bill to be a cornerstone of his presidency and would be willing to make concessions to see it pass. More interesting to me is your question, "Does anybody have principles anymore?" Sadly, I think that principles are something that today are diametrically opposed to politics. IMO, everything is about what perpetuates the Congressperson's self interest and the interest of the party. Who's to blame? We are. We continue to put these people in office over and over again.
