the most agressive dog is one that has been raised badly. it's not about breeds. Rotties, for example, are actually really soppy, good natured dogs. they CAN be made agressive by being raised wrong, and because they are a strong dog, when they are agressive it's very dangerous, but they are naturally good natured. fighting breeds tend to be more easily pushed to agression, but again, it's all about how they are raised. when a good dog owner has them, they are often lovely dogs. in fact, the Staffordshire bull terrier, one of the best known fighting breeds that are legal in the UK, are the ONLY breed that has "good with children" as part of their kennel club breed standards. they have also been known as the Nanny Dog. so fighting breeds can be lovely family pets, but they need a knowledgeable and experienced owner. unfortunately, a lot of low life scum get such breeds as a status symbol, and lack the knowledge and experience to bring them up right. in fact some of them even deliberately encourage agression in them, by abusing them. and then when it all goes wrong, people blame the breed and not the ignorant thug that turned an innocent dog into a weapon.

my aunty had a rotweiller. She treated him like a child. she took great care of him...but he was still mean and aggresive. i never felt safe around him. Because of this, i don't believe it's the owners, i believe it is the temperament of each individual dog.

well dogs aren't children. they don't respond like children. they need to know they are dogs, and live in such a way with their humans that they understand each other. it's not kind to treat a dog like a human child. they can become insecure and anxious, and this can come out in agression. all the rotties I've met have been softies. one in particular was a family dog, and was used as a walking frame by the toddlers of the family as they learned to walk. I used to be a dog groomer, so have met lots of different dogs of the same breeds, enough to see personality traits. Rotties are generally laid back and good tempered.

Like the last person who posted, I don't think any one breed of dog is characteristically more aggressive than any other, and that it's down to how the dogs are reared by their owners.

some dogs are more naturally more aggressive than others its in their nature, so yes its PARTLY down to the owners but it also depends on the dog. Thats why the American pitbull is a banned breed in the UK because they make bad pets, they could be good pets then one day turn on its owners.

Yes, rottweiler is the most aggressive dog that i ever know. I think there still others that train a dog to be aggressive to kill.
