So, you’re planning your final arrangements, something we all must do at some point. Your deciding on music, flowers, what to wear, who will speak, everything. If there is anything special you want done, now is the time to speak up.
Some ppl want to go out of the world naked the same as they came in, some want to wear a special outfit, some may want their favorite song sung and others may want something else.
Personally, I’m still torn between burial or cremation but either way, I want clothing on me. If I’m cremated I don’t want to be naked when they do it. I also want my necklace with my wedding ring and cross on it in with me either way…if I’m buried I want it on and if I’m cremated I want it fired up with me.
By the way, I found this pic of a casket online and thought it was beautiful. I would love one like that…I know, it’s such a waste for something that is going in the ground. Still…it is beautiful. I won’t include the link, but if anyone wants it, just message me and I’ll send it.
What special instructions would you leave? Does anyone in your family know you want specific things done?

As I have donated my body to science with cremation I do not have to think about these type of details. It also doe not cost em anything so my life insurance does not have to be used for burial costs.

This is someting I have never given any thougt to... I have recenly attend some funrrels of two relitives and one was burried and the other cremated. my grandparents were cremanted. I suposed I would perfer to be burried in the ground and dressed in someting. however I have hear that cremation was the chepest way to go.

They all know I want to be cremated and put in the urn with my hub by my name is on the plaque to on top of the box!.
After that is done if they want some of the ashes they take some and put in htier own little box also take some of our ashes blend them together and throw over the mountain and in a river.
am sure I will have clothers on but daughter gets my rings they said no metal goes in the cremmatory.
My hubby picked the songs he wanted played.
Me any music will do that I like.

it is SO smart to have this planned in advance. my dad passed away last february and he and my mom had absolutely nothing planned and since it was sort of sudden, my mom was in shock and was no condition to make sound decisions. it is way better to plan ahead with a clear mind.
as for me, i have favourite songs, Bible readings, etc which i would pick for sure.

I used to think that talking like this ahead of time was morbid but as the years went by and I not only got older but got to know more people, this is the way to do it. I've seen so much bickering it would make you sick, this way everyone knows what you want. I thought I liked the idea of cremation and in talking to my family members they're all very much against it. I think they have the idea that you're put in an oven and baked for a few hours like cooking a ham, which it is not but I don't try to change anyones mind on these issues. I am very much OK with the traditional burial but my one concern is what will they do for ground space eventually?
I have a purple shield book that has all my wishes in it, but I never thought about being dressed. I thought that was a given we were buried with clothes on, so I am going to make that a known fact, I do want clothing. Thank You.

I've been thinking long and hard about this very thing for some time now. My mother just passed away in July, and even though she was cremated, it still cost over $7,000. That is just too much money.
I would ask my friends and family to come and greive with me if they so chose to, but I would prefer a Pagan ceremony, akin to the Natives. Outdoors, and cremated, after being wrapped in blessed and scented cloths. I wonder if this is possible?

i know with me i would like to have the song play "i miss my friend" for my wife if i go first. or even if she goes before me.
and i think i would want one of my best friends speak about me. it will be short and sweet. be something like he loved his family and freinds. but he always could admit he was an a$$hole but he was always real never fake. lol.
but most of my stuff is plan out already. i will be put near my mom. and got things writed down for what i want. dont put me in a suit and tie.

When I am finished with this body I don't much care what happens to it, I want cremation but cloths on or off not my worry and when finished just scatter my ashes
in the river and let go. Hubby still has his Mom's ashes in his work room it creeps me out I think he has some of my Brothers in here also. Believe me ashes will be one of the first things I clean out of the clutter if I get a chance.

I have always made it clear to my family that I want to be cremated and my ashes taken to the top of a cliff and cast to the four winds. I want to wear one of my favourite long velvet dresses and I want a very plain and simple coffin, preferably black. No flowers, no mourning, just happy music with a little humour to lighten the proceedings. I have always had a daft sense of humour and often said that I would go out with a *bang* so perhaps a bottle of Jack Daniels in the coffin with me as I enter the flames - lol
