Going by current performance, and by their strength on paper, which is truly awesome, also the inspirational captaincy by Anil Kumble, I think they are favorites.

For sure! On current showing, they have the best batting and the best bowling line up. They are winning games even though some of their best players, like Rahul Dravid are yet to fire. Dravid and Boucher will fire for sure, when the chips are down. The bowling is also excellent with Steyn, Praveen Kumar, Kallis, and of course the inimitable Anil Kumble. They are also an excellent fielding unit, and Kumble is a very canny captain. Right now, I don't see any team in IPL 3 that measures up to them, maybe Deccan Chargers is close.

Two teams that are looking really eager to perform this season are Mumbai Indians and RCB. Both the clubs are showing amazing commitment which can be seen in the eyes of their senior players. For RCB it is Kallis, Dravid and Kumble while it is Tendulkar and Zaheer for the Mumbai Indians. I think these two would be the favorites for this season. Though I am hoping that they have peaked up a bit too early and CSK will win finally. Cheers! Ram

Presently Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the best teams and I am sure that Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers will fight it out in the Finals. Kumble is really doing wonders as a Captain and I wish him all the very best Kumble, Sachin and Gilchrist have proved that age does not really matter if you really have the passion for the game.
