Home or People at home?

If you are a used to traveling a lot then you must have felt the home sickness feeling. As I travel a lot for long duration, I sure have this feeling but I started thinking: Do I really miss my home land or do I just miss people (friends, family,..) at home land? And I had a thought: what if have the chance to take all the people I miss and move to another country where we can have a better living conditions, will I still feel home sick? I couldn't find a final answer for that!

When I was travelling it depended which country I was in as to what type of homesickness I felt, obviously you miss your friends and family, I felt that when I was in a country where things were done completely different to home then I really missed the ways things were done back home, sometimes things are easier at home and you miss that.

My longest trip was just over one year. On a lengthy trip like that there is a honeymoon like time when all is wonderful. Three weeks into such a trip I feel a bit homesick. On that long trip I missed my family, pets and friends. When I go to places where I go hungry I think of certain shops in my homeland. In Romania I had a miserable time with a language barrier conversation. It took me ages to buy the train ticket. Then I had the joy of finding a health food shop in my next destination that stocked soy drink. After an accident or during an illness I miss my family. In Malaysia I got very sick with vomiting and a high fever. I felt very far from home then. Funnily enough I met a lady that I used to go to school with. Her brother had been in my class. That made me think of my home a great deal.

I remember my longest travel, many years ago. I was 30 and my hubby and I went to South America, North America and Europe for 6 months. At the end I missed so much my home that I even wanted to have a house to clean.
