i think i'm reverting to xp. while i do love windows for its streamlined graphic interface but more so with its light minimum processor requirement, it still needs a comprehensive upgrading in the area of drivers.

windows 7 does look promising in my opinion. better then vista. and upgrading to 7 from xp (or any other OS) will require a driver download. it is just what people need to do when they change OS. hardwares released pre-windows 7 possible doesn't come with windows 7 drivers and that just makes sense. maybe give it a year or two (or just buy everything brand new) and i think it windows 7 will be allright. unless microsoft decides to release a new OS withing a year

It seems to me that 7 will be ok. It is in the right order for it to work That's the way the different versions have been. 98 was fine. Then there was a flop (NE?) I think it was called. Then XP (maybe there was a 2000) but it must have been short lived XP has been very good. Then Vista, which was also not well received. I am guessing, 7 will be good, like XP its almost like the version in between is used to work out all the kinks before the better one comes along. But then, I am not very knowledgeable about this. I'm just stating my impression.

Ya, Windows ME was a flop for sure. Windows XP was a great upgrade from 98 for the average home user. It made things much better with using PlugnPlay for devices and is still a top favorite of mine. I won't switch to Vista because it's too much of a resource hog (IMO). 7 looks very nice, but it'll be awhile before I get the gumption to try it out.

I like windows xp better than other windows OS products Xp it is much more convenient for me and if you use other OS like windows 7, not all software are compatible with windows 7..
