Have you discivered your mission in life?

I wonder if anyone has discovered what was the meaning of his/her life. It would be interesting if everyone can share his experience. As for me, I know what I want to do with my life as a musician and as a teacher, but I don't believe we all have a mission from the moment we are born. Please tell me what do you think about this topic. Thanks!!

hi garamond. great topic. reflective, inspirational, motivating. i've posted this response to a friend. i used to be a carefree person - no aim in life, no worries, no responsibilities. i could have enjoyed more of europe, but one day i decided to return and worked with indonesia's poor, the poorest of the poor, incurring the wrath of my family. but later with their blessings and support as well as others' with a personal mission 'to touch the untouched' i lived, worked and played with the disabled and the destitutes, transcending all barriers. the thing we looked into and improved on was education, farming and fishing, carpentry, printing, brickmaking etc. because we just had to produce to sell or to exchange them for a bowl of rice. having survived tremors, the outburst of a lethal disease of birdflu, the fear of a terrorist attack, the fear of a bomb explosion, the fear of a mob attack when one hostelite was caught stealing in the neighbourhood... its great to live. the one thing which i've learnt from my friends there - the zeal to live. i've since lived in singapore for medical reasons, continued working with the disabled and still make frequent trips to indonesia. i started blogging 2 months ago. 3 weeks ago i started myLotting. and i'm trying to open a blog to earn an extra income from working online. i'm here to make friends to share with and to learn from. i hope this would be an inspiration to those who found themselves at a crossroad, to those who seek a positive change, as i had in the past. when i changed my mindset, my world changed with me. when these things try to creep in, i'll always remember my friends. my mission: to keep on living my life.

Very clever thought. I understand what do you mean and I agree to the point that money is very important in this world. It's interesting to compare your ansver to what tomitomi sayd previously, I think that you share the same point of view in different realities. Very interesting

Hi there:) i believe that everyone has a purpose... or a 'mission' in life. It's something that we need to do so that when we die, we can be at ease and rest in peace. It may sound silly but my mission in life... what i really want to do... is for children in this world to be happy :)

I think the meaning of one's life is dictated by one's self as that person sees fit. At least that's how most people go about their respective missions in life. Most people who don't have enough make their responsibilities as their missions in life like providing for the family or bringing up their children and the like. Those who don't have those kinds of responsibilities or care less for them find their meaning elsewhere. be it from something they enjoy doing, a profession or such. As far as missions go, I believe that people are constantly on a mission. Be it trying to overcome some barrier, trying to achieve something or just trying to survive from this day to the next. I think missions make life all the more fulfilling though
