Why does mylot take forever to load a page? T_T

I noticed, whenever I click on a link, discussions for instance, it takes time for mylot to load a page. Sometimes the page even times out, and i have to refresh it over and over again.
I know it's not my PC because facebook loads faster, with its apps and all, FB does load faster.
Do you have the same experience? But i do love this site. ^^

i have no problem with mylot as it load fast. but if i open facebook and place farmville thats the only time it slow down my laptop coz the games eat a lot of memory so i need to close it first before i will open other site like mylot.

I think that we all have this experience from time to time. It is not as regular as it was a few years ago, but the situation still exists.
This is most likely due to the vast number of users at Mylot. The servers can only handle a certain amount of data transfer so an increase in use will result in a noticeable slow down of the site.
I assume that Facebook has far more resources than Mylot, so they should have less difficulties. It also helps if you use the same pages frequently because many of the images etcetera will already be in your internet cache.
