What's In A Name?

Since I was a child, I kept on wondering why I am given this name "Shello"? Why my parents decided to chose this name for me? And now that I am looking forward to become a mom. I'm now thinking on what name to give to my first baby. I want a baby girl. If God would allow me to have a girl as my first born, I want to name her "Reign Izzobelle". The name "Reign" means the literal word reign which means with supremacy, with authority or a ruler and for the name Izzobelle, I am a great fan of the tv series Grey's Anatomy and I like the name Izzy although I'm not a fan of her. LOL! In Hebrew it is written as Isabel which means God's promise and somehow that would a biblical meaning to that name. All in all, my baby's name would literally mean "Ruler Isabel" which I believe a strong name for my future baby. In your end, do you think that a name would somehow reflects one's personality? And if you are to give your child a name, what would it be and why?

I've always wondered why my father gave me the name I have. He's not really around and I couldn't ask him but I've looked it up and it means vivid and lively. It makes me want to be a person to match my name. I haven;t thought of what to name my child but I wish I would wait to she/he was five and figure out what type of person my child is and give them a name that fits their personality.

Wow. That's good to know that your name means lively and vivid and at least upon knowing the meaning of your name it inspires you to be that kind of person. Maybe that's the reason why your father gave you that name so it will lift you up and you will look at life positively.

hell0! well, i think you have a really nice name , even till date i thought it is a nickname and not a real name :) well, i think that sometimes names really take affect on the people's personalities, because if people have some name which means strength or something like that, they just think themselves for strong and try to proof it. and people who have some rare name, sometimes also funny names, i think get to close in themselves which is really not that good. well, if someday i have kids, i would like to name my first one, if it is a boy Levski, which is actually a very rare name, the name of the greatest person in my country, a man who has given his life for the freedom of the people! and I think that my so will be very proud to have that name!

Hi Phoenix. Thanks for liking my real name.LOL! Yeah. Somehow, I believe too that a strong name would somehow gives you the idea that the person bearing that name is a strong person. It would give you an impression depending on that name. Just like your propose name to your future kid, he would somehow grow up beleiving that someday he would become a hero just like the original Levski. It would be in his mind that he should grow up brave and honorable.Don't you think it is heroic? However, I also believe that the most important factor that would surely affect the personality of a certain child is how us, parents would raise them as a child, how are we going to teach to become a better person and a good citizen of his own native land.

I wouldn't name my kid to reflect the personality, for the simple fact that at the time of naming, I couldn't possibly know the kid's personality. This one is developed only at about the age when the kid goes to school. But I would choose a beautiful name, not a rare one though...I wouldn't want the other kids to ask mine "What kind of name is that?", and to consider him or her a freak only for this reason. I also wouldn't choose a name after some famous guy who did something extraordinary, because if my kid would be just the contrary to that guy, it will look ridiculous...I don't want to give examples but it's easily imaginable. I would choose a name that would be just beautiful and phonetically nice to hear... Maybe I would choose two beautiful names, to give him or her the chance to choose which one he or she will like most...

hello there shello. Good luck on your baby and congratulations! you know, you hsould have asked your parents why they named you "Shello", that's a nice name. My parents named me "Queenly" and I asked them why, my mom said that we are her queens so she named me Queenly, my twin sister Queenie and my younger sister Queen Ruth. Anyway, I don't think it reflects are personality, i mean she didn't know our personalities when we were still babies right? And I haven't thought of baby names yet for my own hehe but in the future if I'll have a son, i would name him Joseph or atleast his second name. :)

Well thanks and you've got beautiful names. Of course, the future and the personalities of our future kids does not depend on how are we going to name them but depends greatly on how are we going to raise them as a good person. Hope that you'll have to think of having your own baby names too. Happy mylotting!

I don't think a name can reflect the child or person's personality, there are many people sharing the same name but with totally different personalities, I wouldn't bother too much searching a name with a particular meaning, I will give the name as long as I think it sounds nice and will not be anything weird, but you should choose based on what you like and believe

Thanks freeboy. Yes, I believe you are right. There are a lot of people sharing the same name but with different personalities. And yes, we are free to choose and give names to our children depending on our own basis and our own beliefs. Happy mylotting.
