How do you think can we attract tourists?

Our country has many beautiful landscapes, sceneries, beaches, and a rich history too. I remember WOW! Philippines when it was still under Richard Gordon. I believe he did a nice job. Currently, there is the medical tourism. I figure, what if we had a promotion on other countries about us? I think it would be like "what could your 5 dollars do?" Then it would show some things 5 dollars can afford in the Philippines. Also, I'm pretty sure it would appeal that minimum wage earners from other countries would seem like they're millionaires here because of their currency. If foreigners realize how the small amount of money for them is actually a big amount here, do you think they would be enticed to visit us? What do you think about a commercial talking about how much a few dollars could do in the Philippines? Do you have any other ideas on how we could attract tourists? Thanks for reading and happy myLotting!

One country that is popular for island hopping is Greece so I would suggest photos of the Philippines lovely palm fringed beaches. The beaches in the Philippines are so much more beautiful than any of the gorgeous beaches in Greece. I think that tourists should be made to feel very safe and because the Philippines is unknown to many they wonder about that. I know that some tourists were on a vacation on an island in Indonesia and some nasty people caught them and took them to an island in the Philippines. The nasty people talked to the Philippines government and tried to blackmail them. The army came and opened fire. I am an independent traveler and I know that the Philippines is safe. Yes, the Philippines is a budget paradise so tourists could be attracted with the prices. However I would say that the Philippines would appeal to adventurous people rather than the average package tourist. I have been to the Seychelles and the Maldives. Those countries have a image of beautiful palm fringed islands just like the Philippines. The Philippines has wonderful snorkeling and sunny weather. Maybe the Philippines is off the tourist track and it stays excellent because of that. Look how some places like Hawaii and how they have been over developed.

shibham, my friend, if you like a not so crowded place, i suggest for Cebu. Manila is 10x more people than cebu. Bantayan Island & Malapascua Island are 2 islands worth visitng to.

Aside from having these tourist spots, we need to make our own identity. The fastest way probably is through the entertainment industry. Nothing probably beats media when it comes to promotion and showcasing the real talents of the Filipinos. We should also come clean when it comes to being orderly. People not even following simple street signs can make it harder for foreigners to appreciate Filipino values. Moreso with corruption tied with crab and colonial mentality...

I agree that one big factor that affects is peace and order, and it is a problem everywhere you go in the Philippines...
