A bike worth a double money in another country

My co - worker hang a photo of motorcycle on his desk, and I ask him about it. He told that he already sold it a couple years ago, due to his financial difficulty. Later he found out, the guy brought that motorcycle to Honduras, and sold it out for double that money he bought from him. That was amazing. I just wonder how is that work? A used motorcycle from one country worth much more another country, especially Central America, not consider to be a really developed country. People has more money there, it seems.
