the people that attack each other on shows like jerry springer do they ever get into trouble with the law for assault? what about the lie detectors or when people admit on the show to doing illegal acts? seems to me that they would have to do something legally but who would go on there and act like that if the police were going to use it against them later? you never hear anyone say anything one way or the other.. anyone know if people that admit guilt or beat each other up on talk shows get arrested afterwards? or is there some rule to where it cant be held against them? do you think it should be allowed to be used against them? i do! especially when these 20 something guys admit to impregnating a preteen or something!

i have a hard time believing anything that is said on that show, i'm pretty sure that most of those people just lied about what they did just so that they can get on tv and throw punches at their friends

They may not all be actors but I think it is all scripted and they get paid good for going on there. Really who in their right mind would get on national tv and disclose the stuff these people do. I think both Jerry and Maury are a bunch of bs.

I know someone who was on one of his shows before. they told me their experience there and from what I heard the show wants the people to fight and may give them a drink b4 the show & also pays the ones who do fight. alot of it I think is fake though. I just dont see how there can be THAT MANY crazy people in america! lol there have been a few times when the people look really familiar, like someone I have seen on tv before. I just dont get into it. and then Steve wilkos has his own show now, same producers including Jerry springer as one of the producers. I just think it's fake. but now and then they do find real crazy's to get on the show.

Hi moonlitmagikchild. I always thought that jerry springer's shows were a farce. I do think that most of them are paid actors. It seems that the producers manage to elicit bizarre stories in order to shock their audience and have greater following and revenue. In the case where adults impregnate a preteen girl, the tv show can be used against them. I don't know the laws in your countries but I assume that such "disgusting abusive behaviour" should not let go unnoticed. In my opinion they should be charged for such abuse.

jerry springer supposively has both real and actors mixed together so that they always have enough to do a show.. and if i were these girls parents i would take a copy of the show where the guy admits to violating her and play it for the judge!

I can't say for sure, but I believe all those shows are "scripted". The real people that come on the show are coached about how to act and what to say. There is probably a tiny bit of truth to what the whole squabble is about, but most of it is staged.

i think on the more serious talk shows though they arent.. i cant picture oprah asking people to admit to being raped and etc for a show.. jerry springer has admitted to some being fake and some real so who knows with him

I don't really know about that...I guess people can express their opinion through SMS, internet, or mail box..But to get into the court? Nahh...That rarely happens although there may be some threats..

yeah but when the more serious shows do lie detectors on if some one was abused and etc and the people admit to and all on the show when they have been able to not be caught i would think that they could some how use the test or tape for some kind of proof.. why would an innocent man being chased by the cops admit to it?

I have not heard of anyone actually being arrested for fighting on talk shows. I do not watch talk shows very much but feel the fighting and some of the other things that happen are staged. I don't think it is good to show these things on tv as children could be flipping the channel and seeing all of this stuff happening. Somebody on the show might get arrested for something outside of the show.

I had only watched that show about four times and i really think it's not very good. i mean promotion of improper behavior on the show, even if they are actors it is still not very entertaining.

I don't know about all of those types of shows, but I know that Jerry Springer uses actors on his show often. people who appear on TV normally sign all kinds of contracts and whatnot, so I'm sure that there's something in the contracts about it. I think it just depends on the show, really.

I think it should be used against them, after all, when a person is arrested, you are told that anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. In fact such shows should be censored. To me I don't see the reason for having such shows on TV

Nah, I think it's a lot like wrestling. When I was 12 I went to a wrestling match, and saw The Midnight Express "steal" a check from The Rock N Roll Express. Cops were everywhere in the coliseum and did nothing. I tell you what's funny, my Grandmother was watching that show at age 86! Even funnier still, she would always say, "I know it's not real, but I like to pretend it is!" She was probably the funniest person I have ever known; not sure if she was trying to be though!

Hello moonlitmagikchild! How did you came up with this question? I think maybe they sign something in the show, who knows. I always think many people act, sometimes it seems like confessions are fake, only to get to good fights! Hope someone knows if this can happen, have a nice day, Libna.

on the more serious shows such as the steve wilkos show with all the lie detectors and stuff and people admitting statutory rape i would think that they wold have to get into trouble.. jerry spring has admitted that some guest are fake but not all..
