How to find out if the discussions has already been posted ?

There are over 2 Lac users and as welll the same number of creative minds are woking at the same time. It is quite natural that whatever you think topost in a discussions may been been posted already. So better check it before posting...Isnt it ? Now when we decide to check it before posting how will we know if the same discussion have been posted already or not.
