Well, if you are gonna use the computer very much and you are ready to spend- go for the Intel i7 Quad Core! Well, the i series from Intel are also good. Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo is good. Do not go for AMD.

                            Take the following specifications:
Core 2 Quad/ i7 Quad/ i3 Quad/ i5 Quad/ Core2Duo
1TB Hard Drive
ATX Cabinet
LG DVD R/W
nVidia 290 GTX - for extreme graphics / for good graphics - 9700 GT
8 GB or 4 GB RAM
Zebronics CPU
Sound Card
Viewsonic or Samsung 21" Monitor

oh thanks for the specification ... did you already have a pc like this? how smooth it is when you have a specification that have 8g of RAM?

Processors are constantly changing and being updated now but I guess there's a good goldern rule and that is, you should always try and buy a dual core processor now. I would stick with the Intel range. A dual core processor is a processor that has two processors within the same housing unit. You obviously have Quad core processors and they are very powerful as well as fast. These have four processors within the same housing unit. These are very expensive though and it's not advisable to spend out on this type of processor unless it's absolutely neccesssary. I think the main processors that people go for now are dual core. I don't think anyone goes for a single processor anymore. I have dual core myself and it seems to handle all my multitasking activities! Andrew

it's a nice comment about this topic. you explained it well and i really understand now.... i don't even know what is quad or dual core means but now i know thanks to you....

since they already pointed out what process you should get for multi-tasking capabilities, i may just add to consider building a rig with high memory minimum of 4gig (try to use also 64bit os to maximize your multi-tasking experience..)

i really want to use a 64bit of OS but i don't have an installer of it i only have 32bit (x84)i've been a lot with my colleague that 64 are good in graphics and multitasking

Hi! I would suggest INTEL for multi tasking.. AMD is good for gaming... If you have more budget, puck high specs, like core 2 quad or even core 2 duo.
Have a nice day!!!

Andy Intel processor in the "i" series such as the i8 will work for multi tasking. They are actually designed to better handle for multi taskers. They are fast and very efficient. I use an i4 dual core Intel processor and it is supper fast and according to Intel it can mimic a 8 core processor with some applications.
