Join those Freelance sites which are free . I am telling you three Freelance sites which are prominent and I have been paid at them . 1. www.odesk.com 2. www.scriptlance.com 3. www.freelancer.com Bid is the amount of money you want to charge the buyer . The Project Amount listed by the employer is that the employer is willing to pay. Once you decide that the Project amount is okay for you to work on that project then you can Bid on that project your amount which should be withing the Budget estimate of the employer . For example if Employer posts a Job saying that work is for 2 hours per week for 7 days and he/she is willing to pay $40-$50 . So the budget range here is this $40-$50 and if you find that the amount is good then you can bid on the project and you might put your Bid as $45 for that job and if the employer finds it good then he/she can hire you for the job . So for that you will have to make a good profile at the site citing your skills and how hard can you work . For those sites where a person has to pay for being a member it is good but you should only join these sites when you are sure that you will be able to bid on projects seriously . To keep the site moving such sites use the paying feature. The above free ones which I have listed are quite prominent and many projects are coming up there everyday.

It is good that you have started your stint at the Freelance sites. The initial part of finding projects is quite difficult . It is solely on the reason that a newbie is treated as an inexperienced person and people do not want to handover their projects to newbie. For this hurdle the best part is to bid on some low amount project where the buyer is paying somewhat lower amount for somewhat more work . But what happens is that you would be able to get a job because many senior members with higher feedbacks would not place their bids on small projects. This chance will get you a start and also can add up to your feedback and once feedbacks are added to your profile other buyers get interested . The whole process takes some time but once your reputation as a good provider gets established , you will find it difficult to manage many jobs as jobs come pouring in . Once I was offered 3 projects of Article Rewriting and all were in the range of $125-$150 and all were urgent so I had to leave 2 of them and hold just 1 . Keep patience and keep on bidding with some attractive uniqueness .

Hi I am doing a freelance job thru freelancer and odesk, the bidding things is your rate or the amount you are charging for that specific job post. It does not mean you have to pay $30 to get the job.
