I would assume that eventually they would wear out. It is man made after all. How long that is is anyones guess. I have used my memory cards 4 1/2yrs and have not had any problem in quality. And I have literally taken hundreds or maybe even thousands of pics. I prefer having on hand several smaller mb memory cards than really large ones like 542mb. I think my biggest one is 64mb. That way if a glitch does happen I don't lose all of my pics. My prefered mb is 36.

No they don't wear out as such, as there are no moving parts. The only thing that can wear is the gold contacts and then only if the card is plugged in and out frequently. Apart from that they are like a light bulb, some last a week others last 20 years

u can store and erase 1 lakh times and then it would wear out
