How do i get to sleep?

Hey, so it's a school night and i think i have insomnia. Like, i am SO tired, but i just can not possibly get to sleep. I've tried listening to soothing music, clearing my head and using lavender to relax, but i honestly just can't fall asleep. PLEASE help me. I'm desperate! Thanks.

I too am here on mylot because I am sleepless. I know I will be super tired when I go to work later today if I don't get some rest, but after laying in bed for an hour and not feeling like I was any closer to sleep, I got up and came here. Hopefully someone has a brilliant idea, cause I'm fresh out of them.

start your brain to handle difficult works ,it automatically signals your body to give rest examples 1.try to solve puzzles 2.start reading difficult answers happy dreams

I have my own way of sleeping but I do not recommend it. I often sleep after midnight since by that time nothing more stops me from sleeping. If you want to sleep early I cant say its going to work as it will only keep you awake early in the morning and its hard to sleep again. But you can do this if you want: Sit with crossed legs in a quiet room, breath and remain silent for ten minutes. When your done lie in bed and concentrate on sleeping. Remember about your sitting quietly instead of the events of the day. Havent tried this myself but I might.
