Boy, it seems impossible to sit straight in order to avoid having back pain beyond my "prime" years. I'm constantly abruptly catching myself slouching in front of the computer. Have you been able to develop a habit of sitting straight?

Well i have been practising it now for the past weeks of time. My wife has told strictly that i shouldnt bend myself and that would lead to lots of bone problems. This happens when i spend more times on computers. I am working on it.

hi stege, I do not have also a good posture. I always find myself slouching. But then, I go this sickness which is scoliosis. Doctor said that this sickness is idiopathic. There is no definite cause of this sickness. But the result of this is poor posture. I learned that I have this when I was still 18 years old but doctors did not tell me anything that I must be aware of my posture. But now that I am 25, I started to feel back pain everytime I am sitting in front of my computer. That is why I go to doctor to have a checkup and they find out that it is because of my scoliosis. They told me to maintain a good posture if I don't want this scoliosis to be in its severe state. I was so sad to learn what was scoliosis really is. I hope this sickness will not be a hindrance for me to work abroad someday. As of now, no matter how hard it is, I try to maintain a good posture while sitting or standing.

No I can't but my sister sure can. She sits straight up all posture perfect and everything. I'm not sure how she does it but she does. so prim and proper, lol. Yea, even when I try to stand up straight or sit straight I find myself slouching over.

not me either. and i still do. i used to wear a kind of a sports band (sorry, not sure what it's called) around my waist so that i don't slouch in front of the computer at home. at work i normally put some files on mylap without having to slouch. strange though but it works for me.
