I just saw the new show that Kirsti Alley has put together about her life and how she is trying to lose alot of her current weight and keep it off for life. I have seen some really terrible photo's of her and was really surprised to find out that she's doing this reality show. I always really liked her as an actress and especially for the Cheers show she did. It was another spin on the reality show in that she's taking on a life challenge that so many of us face. I am trying to get healthier and lose some extra weight. Her show was very positive overall in that anyone can take control of what is wrong in their life and make improvements. I'm a fan of her and her bravery in letting the world into this side of her life! Have you seen the show? What do you think? Is it just a gimmick to sell her weight loss products or more sincere? My vote is a combination of both.

Kirsti Alley, who by bizarre coincidence has the same birthday as me, does not impress me. She is a whack job. Just check her out on twitter and she how much she rants about other people. She had a plum role in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan but got herself dropped from the sequel. She had a great job with Jenny Craig but ate herself out of it. She now says Scientology will help her to lose weight. Well, she's been a Scientologist for years. Did Scientology help her to gain weight? Then again, if Scientology is going to help her lose weight, why hawk weight loss products? Isn't that dishonest? Please, I am not mocking her because of her weight problem. I just don't think she's worth the time.

Hmmm...I did read somewhere that she was involved in Scientology but that was years ago. I guess I am behind the times as I don't even have a twitter account. Just too many things to do so far. I'll have to check it out sometime. It sounds like the main reason you don't really like her is that she talks trash about other people which is something I didn't know. That's okay in my book. You can't complain about being mistreated as she does by the papparazi and then take negatively about others. I'll have to start a twitter account so I can be more up on things! Interesting input as your perspective is so much different than mine but I don't follow celebrities or twitter. I have been very impressed with her show so far and she comes across as very genuine and kind. She hasn't once mentioned Scientology so that's kind of interesting. Thanks for sharing! Take care and be well!

I have seen the show and I think its really good. I love Kirstie I think she is so funny but also so real. She doesn't beat around the bush about anything. She use to be so beautiful back in the day. As for the weight loss products, I think the weight loss products is just an added bonus. I think she is very sincere and on the up and up. I really don't see it as a gimmick at all. She is just trying everything she can to lose the weight. I hope it happens for her because she deserves. Then she won't have to be bothered by the paparazzi taking horrible pictures of her.

So far I agree, she does seem very sincere. I wonder why the Jennie Craig program didn't work out for her. If she's really going to get the weight off and keep it off then she needs to change her whole lifestyle. I'd be using that pool everyday I could as I love to swim so that would help me alot! I saw the episode with her birthday and I think she should have had a reasonable slice. I think going the all or nothing routine is destined to fail. No food should be bad, it should all balance out tho. She needs to consider that the changes she's making need to be long term ones. I'm afraid that is she cuts out every sweet or snack that one day she'll cave and eat the whole cake and then be like what the heck and just continue. I sure do wish her all the best. Take care.

I don't know. She really hasn't put any products out yet, so I don't know if that is her motive. I think she may be sick of getting ripped apart in magazines, and finally decided she wanted to show people what really goes on. My impression was that although she wanted to be serious about getting back into shape, that she really hasn't found the motivation yet. How can one plan a diet and weight loss line if they aren't doing anything to improve their own health? Perhaps in later episodes she will show great progress.

I haven't seen it yet but I hope to catch it this week. Is she sincere? Well, she already lost all of her excess weight as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and put it all back on again. Kirstie can take the weight off but she can't keep it off because she isn't dealing with the underlying problem that causes her to overeat in the first place. No weight loss product can deal with the pain inside. So, yes, I do think that it is to sell her weight loss products.

It'll be very interesting to see how the story unfolds. She has mentioned on the show that she is developing weight loss products but it isn't the main focus. It's more on how one has to make daily changes to one's diet and exercise is key. She seems very sincere and the relationship with her kids is very real and loving. And I also like that she's abit quirky in that she has a whole enclosure set up for her lemurs and visits them and they seem healthy and happy. She has talked with her kids abit about her weight issues and how it effects them so I do hope she deals with the other underlying issues of overeating. I think you are spot on, if one doesn't deal with the why's the weight is very very likely to come back. One has to change one's lifestyle and mindset. Thanks for sharing!

I watched the first episode and thought it was hilarious. But I'm not keeping up with it. I know it's on, but usually there are other shows on at the same time that I want to watch more.
